I changed my mind and swapped Aledo for Lone Star for 9th place.

My band did not attend this competition, but I agree with this. I injured myself during last year after Area Prelims, so I was up in the stands with the band parents. Some of the parents of one of the competing bands were trashing my school. However, the look on their faces when we won was priceless! 😂 Awesome job Rouse! I’m rooting for them!

Predictions since HEB is 1 Week away (not ready mentally) 1. Marcus 2. Wakeland 3. Keller 4. Forney 5. Timber Creek 6. Keller Central 7. Aledo 8. Haltom 9. James Martin 10. Azle 11. Boswell 12. Fossil Ridge Any of these can be switched, but this is my opinion. Again, everyone who is competing will do awesome!

Predicting 5A Área C 1. Forney 2. Poteet 3. Red Oak I’ve recently seen Poteet perform, and their show is very interesting, and definitely better than previous years. Very excited on how this Area will play out.

I was watching the Woodlands perform in state through broadcasting (I don’t even attend The Woodlands HS, I just decided to be haha funny after watching them at Super Regionals). I did not like how the camera angles were, and overall felt like lower quality compared to Box5

I’m performing for Panel 2, and I am honestly kind of terrified. However, time will tell how everyone will stand in this comp.

That’s just a small chunk of the band in wind ensemble. It really depends on how the rest of the band kids pull their strength. I do see Lone Star making finals depending on how well everyone pulls their weight.

Timber Creek * With everyone of my predictions, these placements can be swapped as the season goes on. This is based off past years where I’ve seen these schools marched (been watching since 2015), and videos I have seen of these bands. In no way shape of form am I being bias towards any school, nor am I putting down any band. Please let me know your thoughts, and I’ll adjust accordingly.

I love Lone Star, but imo I feel like they’re either lower half or don’t make finals. I am aware that they made finals, but it depends on how they perform for me to see. Aledo is a highly likely swap for Lonestar. I’ll see Lone Star perform likely, so I’ll be one to judge./

I love the spirit, but be considerate of the other schools. Just cause Argyle dominated one division doesn’t mean they’re gonna dominate another one. I was taking to someone from another competing school a couple of years (2-3 years ago). They had recently moved into the division and had dominated the previous division. The kids I talked to had such an ego that they were going to beat my school. What ended up happening? My school beat them at the competition, those same kids who bragged to us switched up the same speed as them running their egos. I understand you think Argyle is going to be wonderful, and I agree. However, be considerate of the other programs and how hard they work to even make state.

ok nvm I’m making a prediction. this is based off of what I have seen since my sister’s high school years (graduated in 2019) and my time in band (been watching since 2015). these placements can be swapped, but I feel like this is a solid prediction. (keep in mind, I don’t know if some of these bands have moved out of 5A, but yuh). 1. Cedar Park (we know why you’re here) 2. Leander (my prediction to win last state, but oh well) 3. Rouse (idk much, but they’re Leander ISD, plus yall seem really good) 4. Wakeland (y’all are good no matter what show concept is thrown) 5. Forney (not gonna elaborate on the history of this program cause I know too much) 6. Hendrickson (seen that they were decently good, but yuh) 7. Aledo (idk if this band moved out of 5A, but love y’all) 8. Lone Star (they have my sister’s old director, thought I’d share. y’all got robbed last state, loved y’all’s show.) 9. Colleyville Heritage (y’all were so nice to us during finals exhibition 😭) 10. Friendswood (I loved y’all’s show concept, good job at super regionals) 11th and 12th, I don’t know because idk the rest of the current 5A groups, Dripping Springs and Highland Park would be here if they didn’t get moved out of 5A. If anyone else got moved out of this division, let me know PLEASE 😭

Área B is extremely stacked, it’s not so easy to make state in Area B. I can’t wait to see what everyone has planned though. My school is in Area C, so it’s not as difficult compared to Area B, I’m still excited for what this season has in store for everyone. I don’t want to make predictions yet because truly anyone can make it to state if the cards are in favor.

Quick addition: there’s a lot planned for this show. The directors are excited to go above and beyond, especially with the success of Lock and Key (last year’s show). I will say that I don’t know what’s up with us playing a bunch of emoish artists (Radiohead was last year), but I am all for it. I will say though that this show is my last show for my marching season. I am excited to see what the directors do, and from what we’ve been told, we’re going for it all! Can’t wait for HEB in September!

I do remember seeing your post about it and being so happy you loved the show! I am a senior this year, so this will be my last show, but hopefully I can visit the comps or games sometimes (when college doesn’t occupy me).

Wanna say that Forney could be in Top 5 now with Highland Park gone, but truthfully it depends on what happens with the show.

Yeah I highly doubt them going to finals, especially seeing them in Area. They don’t stand a chance against all of these other programs, especially since being in 6A.
