I’m holding on to hope that Leander will do good in state. I do see them in 3rd or 4th. Wakeland could easily take them once I analyze everything before my final state predictions.

I haven’t heard much either besides looking at contest results, but I would say they are doing good! I’ll be redoing predictions after Region / Area is over, and I know which groups advanced to state.

D-ville is walked away with 22nd place and a score of 69.55, very very shocked. Maybe it wasn’t a judge’s taste? IDK. Also Hendrickson was first out, with Boyd in 14th in prelims. Goes to show how general effect can make or break your show in BOA.

Rouse, Leander, and Cedar Park:

I just want to extend my congratulations to everyone of the finalist bands! I am extremely pleased with how things panned out, but I am shocked by a few things that did occur. However, that is just the thrill of it all! I want to give shoutouts to all of the schools who were extremely kind to mine! I am just extremely happy right now, and I hope yall enjoyed Forney!

I am very impressed with everyone’s prelims run, especially Hendrickson and Duncanville. Very very proud of McKinney North for advancing, y’all deserve it!

I agree! I was blown away by the huge brass sounds! They want to advance! They are incredible!

Keller Central: OH. MY. GOD. This was incredible! The clarinet soloist was very very good at conveying the music, very powerful sound, and good contrasting dynamics! The visuals were very clean, but I did hear slight audio issues (probably the point; but oh well). As for the whole ensemble, they definitely are fighting for finals! I enjoyed this show, and I hope they advance!

I agree! It was very well rounded! I enjoyed the visual aspect along with the music (although I didn’t comment on it, mb)

Hendrickson: WOW. Very powerful sounds! I was jamming out in the bus! One thing I didn’t like though was the seemingly harsh sorta sounding sounds (idk how to describe it), but some of the notes sounded very forced out. However, the music is very fitting, and I enjoyed the clarinet soloist at the beginning of the show (from a clarinet’s perspective, it was very clean, very well controlled and had great input vs output of notes)!

Final good luck to everyone competing! Have the best run you can, give it your all, but no more than you have! I am very excited to see the competing bands in Box5 before we perform!

I keep forgetting they’ll be there tomorrow. Do give input on how they do in the BOA Prosper form! I am excited for tomorrow, and how people will react to what we have added / removed (we did remove some stuff in order to add other stuff, but I’m not gonna spoil).

Forney one I can confirm since we have 2450 students (I believe from what I remember). The threshold is usually around 2200 or so (correct me if I am wrong), so Forney is likely to move up to 6A.

Area B is hella difficult. I am worried about the rest of the groups. I do have Wakeland and Lonestar in the advancing to state predictions, but I’ll make sure to watch the other groups. I know Argyle is doing wonderful, so maybe they’ll advance. Who knows, also McKinney North is someone I’m excited about since we see them for a football game (unless something happens).

I can’t decide who 12th will be, so I’m listing groups I will keep an eye on. However, I am also keeping an eye on McCallum since I know they advanced 2021. I know they haven’t been doing so good with BOA; however, the way UIL is judged compared to BOA is very different, so I have high hopes for McCallum.
