    We all know the top dogs….. but we with regions wrapping up over the next few days and about 10 days from Areas… Who are some new faces we might see in San Antonio. Any surprises we may not see? See in Area B forums they may only be able to bring 3 bands in 2025 unless they get some unexpected Region help Saturday.

    Oh this isn’t about counting D-ville out. I think they will be motivated for Area. It’s gauging if their Region performance was drastically different from Birdville and other comps that they have not done as well at!

    Good question….just my opinion, but making it for first time in 12 years, and drew last spot and not likely to make finals, would be fun show to see before announcing finalist. We shall see

    1 state spot for every 5 area bands, correct? If all R19 advance, what would area total be?

    Not being snarky at all, up their game from??? Their finish in birdville was disappointing…hard to anticipate a huge turn around in 3-4 days but could do. A lot of changes by Area for sure.

    What is a “show band” per se? While discussing types of bands…have heard this year about “JV” bands! Are these bands where enrollment is so high they can’t all march together or does this tend to happen at HS’s that are like 9-10 grade campuses?

    With Skyline advancing, think they were slated for last March of Area. That will would make them 5:00 and move everyone back 15 minutes. Would also put the last break between Waxahachie and Sachse! And Nimitz before lunch.

    Unofficial Line Up (based on last year’s schedule….where Lancaster, Skyline, and Longview didn’t March at Area) but based on this year’s draw 11:00 Royse City 11:15 JJ Pearce 11:30 North Garland 11:45 Ducanville 12:00 Rowlett 12:15 John Horn Lunch 1:15 Nimitz 1:30 Berkner 1:45 Mesquite 2:00 MacArthur 2:15 Rockwall Heath 2:30 North Forney 2:45 Garland 3:00 Forney Break 3:30 Waxahachie 3:45 Sachse 4:00 Tyler Legacy 4:15 Rockwall 4:30 Richardson 4:45 Irving 5:00 Lake Highlands Finals Top 10 Starting at 7:30 *point of interest….this was the schedule once moved to a week day. Not sure if the original schedule was same!

    At the moment, I think Rockwall, Wax, Forney, and Sachse are bubbling to top 4. 5-6 could be 2 Richardson schools or 1 And Heath. Or one of those 3 and a D-ville….I mean, I wouldn’t put it past something clicking

    Right now, my gut is saying any band that finishes prelims in the top 6 has a state shot. 7-12 would take an incredible finals run.

    It’s been a year…and my brain is a little foggy but if I recall correctly….last year area was postponed due to rain threat that never materialized and when it was moved to a week day, they had to bring in a whole new judging panel. Mostly made up of retired judges verse judges on the current beat. Doesn’t really mean it changed outcome at all. Don’t think any would argue over the 4 bands that advanced. How, in your estimation, does this panel favor Forney?
