Oh, and interesting news out of Royse City They are 6A But building a 2nd HS that was due to open a year from August…. But now they are reevaluating how to open it due to budget and bond issues. 1) May not even open during 2028 2) May phase in but all extracurriculars run at RCHS facilities or 3) Open as a Middle school until they can finish build out

Wonder if a 7A is coming down the road.

Saw that enrollment numbers are out leading up to next month’s UIL realignment. I know they have not announced the new cutoffs but any surprises? Any predictions of Area changes?

Who we got making finals in 2026

🚨 copyright claim, no one steal my idea 😂 🚨 When I retire from my current profession, I want to create a one time magazine similar to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football. But for Texas Bands that focuses on the Awesome Big Rigs that move these band’s equipment around. Page Layout would have the Semi, and band picture and then a a paragraph or two about the truck or an experience to tell. Of course, next year’s edition would have to have an IN Memoriam page for Vandergrif’s truck.

Thanks for the insight! That’s pretty lucky that school was out Monday and Tuesday. It’s also amazing opportunities for the kids so can’t fault anyone for giving that to the kids. I can’t imagine coordinating all of the travel plans, bless you! Good luck to your band this weekend and next week!

Logistics question, 💯 not judging any of these bands….but saw so many of them at 6A state and finals but then turn around and do grand nationals. Do they stay for the week? North Texas schools like FLOMOs do they go back to school for a day or two just to go back. What type of budgets do they run and what are band fees like to make it possible to do this many high quality and competitive contest. I eat a lot of pb and jelly for my kids as it is. Haha

Along the lines of that last post. Other than each Area C band adding about 30-40 members…. What type of areas could help them get closer to finals?
