The 6A Area C Finals is going to be an incredible night. The long summer days, the holes on shoes, the sun burner necks, late night hydration runs, long football roads trips followed by early morning call times all with one goal in mind…a trip to State. There’s no more comparing shows from this year to last year. No more trying to say band x beat band z at this competition but were flipped at this other competition. Just one day, you get One march in prelims to claim a spot in finals. 10 teams will march on to the evening. Then it’s one march for state. Mano y mano, plume to plume. 217 heartbeats, beating as one! 8 minutes and 47 seconds to be your best. To have the march of a lifetime. Then it’s the wait. The adrenaline let down….the release of emotions as directors, marchers, and parents hold their breaths….in 10th place…you wonder if you did enough….in 9th place….what could I have done better…..in 8th place….ok ok what number are they on….in 7th place….omg…I can’t hear him. Who do he say…in 6th place…..breath breath breath we are ok. It’s all going to be ok. In 5th place….please don’t say us, please don’t say us…..in 4th place AND ADVANCING to State…..THE……… See you next weekend in Mesquite

Anyone know where Lake Travis placed in prelims. They were marching 1st in finals no matter what

Sitting back here in truck city near the prop holding field. Its amazing to see the well oiled machines from backstage. It really does take a village.

It is quite the haul. Rockwall played at Lake Travis in week 2 or 3 of football season and didn’t make it home until 3am or so

Sadly, 4 was the most they were going to be able to make under the 5-1 formula....just glad enough bands reached to make it 4

I feel bad about that. It was North Garland and I had stepped out for a moment and only heard.

They were by far the best band I heard from the rest room and concession stand

Last year, it was the masked color guards on the scaffolding 😂 They also went first and was first time I have seen them this year (now that Rockwall and Heath aren’t in their football district). Maybe it’s a show that grows. The music was good just not that stunning hit made.

My Region 3 Rankings Post Region 1. Rockwall OWB…not trying to show bias here i genuinely feel they are the strongest show at the moment). I love how their show has grown through the season. Peaking at right time. 2. Forney I need a Forney expert to help me here! I like their show but both times I’ve seen it, I wanted more. They have great sound. It just feels like they aren’t matching up with the energy the crowd wants to give back. 3. Sach- Disclaimer, probably the only band I have not seen first hand! Have seen a few clips, I know they have gone back and forth with Duncanville! Could they be 1-2? Maybe, but want to see live to make that call! 4. Garland- This may surprise some people. It just resonates with me. It’s clever, sounds great, visually pleasing! 5-8 Rockwall Heath, Royse City, Mesquite, North Forney- All 4 of these bands are solid 6A bands! They could go in 4 different orders and any of 4 could make an Area run at finals I think 9-10 Rowlette/Horn I’m torn on these two bands! Probably also the 2 I have see the least so maybe others can give me more insight…I have always enjoyed Horn shows before but they brought me in and made it memorable…I didn’t find the catch this time Either way, 1-10, can we all agree how spoiled we are to have these 10 hard working bands representing our districts? Band and guard kids are the best kids
