  1. QUOTE (Xukaniz @ Mar 9 2007, 10:27 AM)wow, 5 months... Distributing DVD's for the marching arts is a lengthy process these days. Paper work has to be done with the music publishers to obtain the copyrights and synchronization licenses (a license required to record, copy, and distribute the visual and sound together).
  2. QUOTE (bossman @ Mar 9 2007, 09:10 AM) is it at the same price? Yeah.

  4. From the Mr. Video website: http://www.mrvideoonline.com/boa.htm 2006 Grand Nationals DVDs will ship on Friday, March 9, 2007 (shipping USPS First Class from Omaha, Nebraska). IMPORTANT NOTICE Credit cards are being processed now. If you lost or had a card stolen since Grand Nationals, OR if your card expired since then, it will probably delay your order. We will try to call you if there is a problem, but if you know of a possible delay, call us to avoid more delays. (800) MR VIDEO Thanks, Mr. Video, Inc. -------- Waiting for my Grand Nationals DVD is like Christmas all over again. It's one of my favorite times of the year. I can't wait! Who else is getting excited? There were so many outstanding shows in Finals this year.
  5. Supposedly....(keyword here) several powerhouses are attending the El Paso Regional. I'm not going to name the bands because I really don't know about the accuracy of the information. I won't believe it until I see the official list from BOA. Because really....it sounds too good to be true. We'll see in the upcoming weeks when BOA releases the roster of bands who have signed up so far.
  6. QUOTE (EODrillDesigner98 @ Feb 10 2007, 04:58 AM) I cant wait for DCI Classic to come. This will be my 3rd year attending it. Unforunately, this year I forget to vote. Oh well. You can still vote. Voting ends on the 14th.
  7. I saw Rampart at Grand National Semifinals this past year. I really liked the show! I loved Aaron Guidry's twist on Ride & October. It was fantastic.
  8. QUOTE (Danpod @ Feb 7 2007, 11:00 PM) Lulu's? La Madeline's Friday afternoon and Cheesecake Factory (just like last year!) later that night.
  9. And, my favorite shirt.
  10. I'll be there for sure. Can't wait!
  11. Here's who I voted for: 1987 Santa Clara Vanguard 1991 Star of Indiana 1993 Star of Indiana 1995 Madison Scouts 1999 Santa Clara Vanguard 2000 The Cadets 2000 The Cavaliers 2004 Santa Clara Vanguard
  12. QUOTE (chickora @ Feb 6 2007, 07:59 PM) Are you flipping serious? cause if not.. I'll be mad! Shoot, I got a Division I at S&E in 2000 and I still haven't received my pizza! Papa John's please. And, with extra garlic sauce.
  13. QUOTE (MartinHorn @ Feb 2 2007, 10:16 PM)Dell has been pretty good to me. Same here. My baby:
  14. QUOTE (mbui @ Jan 27 2007, 10:48 PM) Electronic instruments in drum corps....it's about time. I can't wait for it. Dang it. I was really looking forward to hearing electronics in drum corps. I'm all for hearing fresh and NEW sounds in the activity.
  15. Whoa. That was definitely a typo. Glad you caught it Zach! I meant to say Center Grove HS 1995 (A Journey into the Adventure Zone) & Westfield 1995 (Music of Samuel Barber).
  16. L.D. Bell 2006 won both on the BOA Forums & TXBands Forums. Like I said, the show is going to be remembered for a long, long time. It belongs in the class of Spring HS 1993, Center Grove HS 1995, Westfield HS 1995, Lassiter HS 1998 & Plymouth Canton EP 1999. I can't wait for my Grand Nationals DVD!
  17. Electronic instruments in drum corps....it's about time. I can't wait for it.
  18. Both shows were great, but that's exactly what I was thinking. Interesting how some are mentioning the use of synthesizer in L.D. Bell's show when Marcus had quite a bit in theirs as well. It wasn't as noticeable as L.D. Bell's (because Bell mainly used it for sound effects) but it was definitely there.
  19. http://www.txbands.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2054 Not trying to be a pessimist, but I doubt the media section of the website will be available in the near future (if not at all). Copyrights are a huge issue in the marching activity and it's best for all parties involved that the media not be made available. It was illegal. My best bet is to just ask around for whatever mp3 you are looking for. I'm sure someone on here has the file you are looking for.
  20. QUOTE (TX Suh-nare @ Jan 24 2007, 09:18 PM)At the 2006 BOA Concert Band Festival, there was a recently composed symphony piece premiered that was written about highlights of floght, from Icarus to Wright Bros. and beyond. I forgot the title and composer, but for a guy who hates themes in music, this piece is outstanding. If any1 can do research on it, I'll kiss your girlfriend for you. The piece you're talking about is "Sky Is Waiting" by Samuel Hazo. By the way, it should be.... "If any1 can do research on it, I'll let you kiss my your girlfriend for you."
  21. L.D. Bell That show is legendary and is going to be remembered for a long time.
  22. Speaking of State.... I wish it was on a Saturday instead of a Monday/Tuesday.
  23. QUOTE (crazyjakeup @ Jan 22 2007, 09:41 AM) didnt they have the contest in waco??? and besides you can always rotate locations... Yeah. The State Championships were held at the Baylor Stadium in Waco up until the 2002 season. But after the unfortunate events (weather) that took place at 5A State that year, the UIL decided to move the competition to an indoor venue starting in 2003. I would love to see State be rotated, but the UIL might be a bit hesitant on moving the event to an outdoor venue after what happened.
  24. QUOTE (barisaxy08 @ Jan 19 2007, 07:44 AM) well im sure some of them would compete in BOA but im sure there are other bands that wouldn't...so what would they do? Just small competitions??? Pretty much.
