I was driving when finalists got announced (which is why you didn't see my usual "go big blue" post haha), but I just wanted to say how proud I am of Keller. A difficult early season and the departure of Mr. McGahey truly had me a little bit worried, but in true Keller fashion, they pulled through. Well done on another great season, and be proud of yourselves!!!

Some of them are starting to wonder what is the point of SABOA and State if its the same bands year and year out. Bias, money, and juding inconsistancy is starting to build up.
Adding to what others have said, the bands who always make it, make it for a reason. Their consistency isn't a streak of luck, it's because the kids and the directors know how to perfect a show up until the very last day of the season. That isn't a trait specific to finalists, but it is the reason you see so much overlap in SASR and SMBC finalists from year to year. The bands that are consistent in their approach and high levels of execution, will see results.

No one has ventured in - so I’m going to.
very very deep pool. I think there are 10 locks for finals - and four spots for 10 schools after that. It was really really intense competition here this year. Far better than last year overall.Who are your locks and your bubble bands?

Fun fact: Keller’s ballad was originally Dream On by Aerosmith but they had to change it due to copyright. I’m assuming the structure of the ballad was the same and just adapted for Sweet Dreams. I would’ve loved to see hear what Dream On would’ve sounded like but I absolutely love their current ballad too.
So THAT'S what happened to Dream On! I thought I remembered it in the show reveal and was confused why that wasn't in it when I saw them earlier this season. Interesting!

How was Keller’s run today? I don’t have the streaming service (and from the sounds of it, I don’t want it)

Recaps up on HornRank (much easier to read lol)

I know someone was making a drive of all the recordings they had in prelims, does that exist for finals as well?

So well deserved for Hebron, that show is simply something else. Well done to all bands! Seeing Keller make it through to finals in this especially hard SR made me so incredibly proud to be an alum!! Well done everyone!!!!

Now I don't have data at my fingertips or anything, but I reckon 15 hours and 18 minutes is the largest time between performances on the same day? Hats off to Pecos!
I had not even considered this! What a loooonnnnnnnng day for them! But well done to our class 1A champs!

I am so incredibly proud of my friends over at Keller, after all of the difficulties finding their footing all season long, they finally proved why they are one of the best. So incredibly glad this show gets to be performed tonight 💙

What an amazing Prelims, probably the best ever! So much talent here! But anyways, I'm goanna put in my locks, and then who I have in the finalist bubble (bands Imo that really could make finals)!!! Regardless of results, congrats to everyone for an amazing serios of performances!!! And this is all not in a particular order
Locks:
Hebron
Flomo
Marcus
Reagan
CTJ
Vandegrift
Cedar Ridge
Vista Ridge
Cedar Park
The Woodlands
fighting for last 4:
Coppell, Keller, Timber Creek, Keller Central, Rouse, Leander, Pearland, Wylie, Rockhill, Wylie East, Round Rock, James Bowie, Westlake Hendrixson, Waxahachie, Westwood, L.D. Bell, 7Lakes, Cy-Fair, Cypress Woods
Who are you feeling take those 4? My personal list is Coppell makes it cleanly in, with Round Rock, Keller, and Westlake being the next 3.

Well done Pearland! Interested to see them trying something new, tonally speaking. That sax soloist at the end is awesome!!

HELLO Oak Ridge!! What a powerful performance!!

I'll be the first to say it this weekend...
WAY TO GO FLOMO!!!
Love their concept, the music is great. I do think the drill lacks character but they will not have any problems performing well in finals and State. -
No matter how it ends up, Keller should be incredibly proud of what they did tonight! You made myself and a ton of my alumni friends (who previously didn't even care for this show) incredibly proud and in awe of the quality of performance that just happened! Go Big Blue 💙
