Now that I'm out of school for the summer and have more time on my hands, I have gone back to old spreadsheet ways. My project this time was creating a sheet to show every school in every region and what they have achieved at region in recent history, as well as tracking schools that are advancing to area and state. In the past I've seen various threads tracking results from individual or multiple regions, but never anything that has everything in a single thread. 
Once the season starts and region registration info comes in, I will update it to show which schools are attending. Later in the season I will grant editing access to trusted members who will be at region/area events and will be able to update the spreadsheet as the results come in live before they get posted online. 
Other than that, feel free to let me know if I have any errors in the spreadsheet as going through as much information as I have in relatively short amount of time there is bound to be some mistakes. If you have any other suggestions for info to add, let me know and I'll look into it.

I'm just so thrilled that Summit jumped from seventh to fourth overall! I didn't think that much of a jump was possible! Proud mom here! ❤️

So happy that I decided to stay in San Antonio for Band Week San Antonio. 5A is going to be spicy and I'll be glued to my seat for the entireity.

The 3 LISD bands, Weiss, Highland Park, Wakeland, Lebanon Trail, Wylie East are my favorites for finals. Who knows how these shows are going to develop throughout the season but it is going to be epic and every bit as competitive as 6A.

I think we still head to a Leander ISD threepeat, but I’m shakier on the prediction than I had been. There’s a lot of good band in 5A this year. Wakeland of course is happy to play spoiler to LISD’s fun, and this year is far from an exception. Not to mention Weiss and Johnson attempting to make an impact on their way to 6A next season. Not sure who else could make a meaningful challenge up top. Lone Star is very clean, Forney’s show has wheels (the design caption should treat them favorably), and Highland Park could be anywhere. 

Personally, I love that UIL rewards execution. However, I've probably cheered the loudest for those shows that are well-designed. I have zero problem with programs that play to the sheets and achieve the judging criteria as it is written. If you dance, dance well. If you have props, utilize them. Whatever you do, do it well. Well-designed shows are awesome, as long as they are achieved at a high level.

What a day! So much great stuff to see. Shows I loved, in particular: Highland Park, Wylie, Summit and Richland. Duncanville is so visually impactful - really enjoyed them too. Quite the day for band in DFW!

I'm somewhat surprised about Duncanville, although, as with many other programs this year, their situation could perhaps be easily explained by the effects of the pandemic.
Also, The Colony's absence from finals is notable, even if this is consistent with their bottom-of-finals finish at HEB finals this year and their early-ish performance time today. My guess is that they are the first out.
I'm most surprised by Summit's lower placement, though, given their BOA Midland placement last week. Of course, Midland was not an incredibly deep contest, and this is not BOA scoring. Additionally, Summit had an early slot today, although that is not by itself a strong explanation in this context.
Highland Park seems to be securing their program's upward trajectory. Since they were not in contest with Wylie for captions in prelims, it is difficult to say how close or far the two are.
Movement in finals will be interesting. I think Summit is most likely to move up, and Highland Park most likely to not move down (apart from Lewisville). 

Yeah. But an improved performance can shake things up, especially at contests using the UIL sheets.
Looking at the recaps, Summit was strong musically (getting first from the music ensemble judge), although percussion wasn't quite as strong (although the good news is that I don't think percussion is judged separately at area).
Two weeks to get it as clean as possible for area.

This area is always so competitive, there's always at least two bands that deserve to go to state but end up missing out because of the depth of this area. I'm excited to see the final productions of each band here.

True! I think if it’s 3 Poteet will take it. There historically good and they did have a season last year I’m pretty sure.

Don’t count out Highland Park from Dallas. They placed second in 2019 in 5A. Smaller band but big sound. It will be interesting to see how they fare. Competition will be tough…and fun for all to watch!

Basic recaps there if anyone wants to see. There were tabulation errors with the class A results (hence why Timberview won the class when they announce Cleburne won 3 of 4). Would not surprise me if that was the case with finals slots too.
Final thoughts tonight before I turn out the lights, the more I think about it, the more I think you throw tonight’s results in the trash for predicting future results. I’m not sure what the scoring system is for this contest, but I know it’s not the UIL sheets and I’m pretty sure it’s not the BOA system either. Most valuable things bands can take from tonight are the judges comments.
Oh well, glad that band is back and just as good as it’s ever been. Good luck to all of the groups this season!

That was a “sweet” show, Highland Park. Lots of fun moments in there, both musically and visually.

There are some pretty awesome 5A bands from other districts on the rise as well. It will be an exciting UIL season for sure!
