  1. can't wait to see how this show turns out!
  2. Hey everyone, so I have been unable to find majority of the 2007 UIL area results because most of the archived results have been lost and are not accessible like they once were. If anyone has any information as to who was at the area contest for 2007 for 1A, 2A, and 4A, I would appreciate the help! The only results I have been able to find are- 4A Area F 4A Area G prelim placements 4A Area C 1A Area C 2A Area C 4A Area E- 6 of the bands that were at the contest
  3. I can't wait to see how McKinney North and Lonestar do this year! Area B is always fun to see the scores after because of how close each band is to each other
  4. thank you! Didn't realize I typed the wrong city XD
  5. no problem! This area will be very interesting, but my main focus this season will be Area B, Area C, Area D, and Area E because they all had changes, like Area D now has Region 13 and Area E no longer has Region 13. This will be a very interesting season for 4A!
  6. Gatesville and Alvarado should do well here. If anything, the top 12- 1st- Panther Creek 2nd- China Spring 3rd- Ft. Worth Southwest 4th- Gatesville 5th- Alvarado 6th-12th (Any Order)- Springtown/Robinson/Castleberry/Kennedale/Aubrey/Lake Dallas/Krum Outside that could probably make finals- Brock HS Glen Rose HS Stephenville HS Godley HS
  7. so I went ahead and found all the bands that will be in this area and I have to say its quite interesting. Region 13, which used to be apart of Area E will be apart of this Area and I think we could see a band advance from that Area finally! The total number of bands that could possibly advance to area as of right now is 39 bands, but it can always change depending on if more Houston ISD schools do UIL or not- 4A Area D (Region 8 (3), 13, 17, 18, 23, 26, 29, 32)- Region 8 (3)- Jarrell HS Madisonville HS Salado HS Region 13 (10)- Bay City HS Brazosport HS Columbia HS El Campo HS La Marque HS Needville HS Stafford HS Sweeny HS Wharton HS Willowridge HS Region 17 (0 Bands) Region 18 (8)- Austin Eastside Memorial HS Austin LBJ HS Austin Northeast HS Austin Travis HS Gonzales HS La Grange HS Wimberley HS Smithville HS Region 23 (2)- The only Houston school that does UIL is Scarborough HS, but is NV- Houston Scarborough HS Rest- Katy Freeman HS Unknown if they will compete in UIL this year from Houston ISD- Houston Furr HS Houston Kashmere HS Houston North Forest HS Houston Northside HS Houston Washington HS Houston Wheatley HS Houston Worthing HS Houston Yates HS Region 26 (4)- Caldwell HS Giddings HS Manor New Tech HS Taylor HS Region 27 (4)- Bellville HS Navasota HS Royal HS Sealy HS Region 29 (3)- Bandera HS Fredericksburg HS Sam Houston HS (San Antonio) Region 32 (5)- Burnet HS Lago Vista HS Lampasas HS Legacy Ranch HS Marble Falls HS
  8. 100% agree with you! It sucks that this area can only send 6 bands at most because there are so many good bands!
  9. This area has had a HUGE change from previous years! Panther Creek is the only band that advanced from this area last year to return again to this area, but now they get to face many of the state advancers from Area D! This will be an interesting change to the area with 48 bands total, but will most likely fall somewhere between 25-35 bands in total, so we could see 7 bands advance from this area at most, but will most likely see 5-6 bands advance. 4A Area B (Region 2, 5, 7, 8 (Rest of), 20, 24, 30, 31)- Region 2 (7)- Aubrey HS Bridgeport HS Decatur HS Gainesville HS Krum HS Lake Dallas HS Sanger HS Region 5 (0 Bands) Region 7 (5)- Brownwood HS Burkburnett HS Graham HS Mineral Wells HS Stephenville HS Region 8 (7)- China Spring HS Connally HS Gatesville HS Hillsboro HS La Vega HS Lorena HS Robinson HS Region 20 (10) (Most of these bands don't always compete in Marching Band or are NV)- Carter HS Conrad HS Ferris HS Hutchins HS Kimball HS Life School Waxahachie Lincoln HS North Dallas HS Roosevelt HS Pinkston HS Region 24 (1)- Panther Creek HS Region 30 (17) (Some of the Ft. Worth bands either don't compete in marching band or are NV)- Ft. Worth ISD (8)- Benbrook HS Carter-Riverside HS Diamond Hill-Jarvis HS Dunbar HS Eastern Hills HS Southwest (Ft. Worth) HS Terrell Academy HS Western Hills HS Rest (9)- Alvarado HS Brock HS Castleberry HS Glen Rose HS Godley HS Kennedale HS Lake Worth HS Springtown HS Venus HS Region 31 (1)- Ranchview HS
  10. I accidentally put this in the wrong topic, and then found out there was no topic for this area. Area E is definitely going to be an interesting area to watch this year as there is a total of 38 to 47 bands in total in this area that could possibly advance to area! 5A Area E (8 South, 9, 10, 13, 17, 19, 23, 27, 33) Region 8 South (3)- A&M Consolidated HS College Station HS Rudder HS Region 9 (4)- Huntsville HS Lake Creek HS Montgomery HS Splendora HS Region 10 (6)- Dayton HS Nederland HS Port Arthur Memorial HS Port Neches-Groves HS United HS West Brook HS Region 13 (5)- Kempner HS Fort Bend Marshall HS Lamar Consolidated HS Lamar Randle HS Terry HS Region 17 (6)- Angleton HS Ball HS Friendswood HS Iowa Colony HS Santa Fe HS Texas City HS Region 19 (5)- Barbers Hill HS Baytown Sterling HS Baytown Lee HS La Porte HS Pasadena HS Region 23 (11) (Many of these schools don't always compete in Marching Band)- Austin (Houston) HS Chavez HS Debakey HS Energy Institute HS H Jane Long Academy HS Madison HS Milby HS Sharpstown HS Sterling (Houston) HS Waltrip HS Westbury HS Region 27 (2)- Brenham HS Spring Woods HS Region 33 (5)- Crosby HS Galena Park HS Kingwood Park HS Porter HS West Fork HS
  11. Well with the release of the 2024/2026 alignments, this area is about to see a really big change! With the addition of Region 3 and Region 25, we could see 6 to 10 bands advance to the state marching contest from this area as long as all bands are under Varsity. Plus this area has military bands so those spots will still count! This will truly be an area you will want to be watching for. Also, the regions could change at any time until it is finalized. 4A Area C (Region 3, 4, 9, 10, 19, 21, 25, 33)- Region 3 (7)- Caddo Mills HS Canton HS Kemp HS Mabank HS Quinlan Ford HS Sunnyvale HS Wills Point HS Region 4 (8)- Gilmer HS Kilgore HS North Lamar HS Paris HS Pine Tree HS Pleasant Grove HS Spring Hill HS Sulphur Springs HS Region 9 (2)- Shepherd HS Tarkington HS Region 10 (13)- Bridge City HS Hamshire-Fannett HS Hardin-Jefferson HS Hargrave HS Hudson HS Jasper HS Liberty HS Little Cypress-Mauriceville HS Livingston HS Lumberton HS Silsbee HS Vidor HS West Orange Stark HS Region 19 (0 Bands) Region 21 (12)- Athens HS Brownsboro HS Bullard HS Carthage HS Center HS Chapel Hill HS Cumberland Academy HS Henderson HS Lindale HS Palestine HS Rusk HS Van HS Region 25 (5)- Bonham HS Celina HS Community HS Farmersville HS Van Alstyne HS Region 33 (3 (Doesn't show they have bands))- Galena Park CTE Early College HS Houston Harmony School Advancement Quest Early College HS
  12. It will only be 10 bands to finals unfortunately :(.
  13. I'm really excited about the changes! Will be interesting to see how Canton and Celina will do against North Lamar, Lumberton, Paris, Bridge City, and Spring Hill in Area C!
  14. They became a 6A this year! It will be exciting to see them face up against Waxahachie, Duncanville, Berkner, and more this year!
  15. I managed to find all the bands in this area- 6A Area C (Region 3, 4, 20, 21)- Region 3 (11)- Forney HS Garland HS John Horn HS Mesquite HS North Forney HS North Garland HS Rockwall HS Rockwall-Heath HS Rowlett HS Royse City HS Sachse HS Region 4 (0 Bands) Region 20 (13)- Berkner HS Dallas Jesuit HS Duncanville HS Irving HS Irving MacArthur HS Irving Nimitz HS JJ Pearce HS Lake Highlands HS Lancaster HS Richardson HS Skyline HS Washington HS Waxahachie HS Region 21 (2)- Longview HS Tyler Legacy HS some notable changes include Duncanville, Berkner, Waxahachie and Forney being added to this area! In total, there are 26 bands meaning that at most, 5 bands can advance to state from this area
  16. Hey everyone so I managed to find all bands that were under 5A for this area (Note that none of the bands had NV) and these bands could change once bands start signing up for Regional- 5A Area C (Region 3, 4, 20, 21)- Region 3 (10)- Crandall HS Greenville HS Kaufman HS Lakeview Centennial HS Mesquite Poteet HS Naaman Forest HS North Mesquite HS South Garland HS Terrell HS West Mesquite HS Region 4 (3)- Marshall HS Mount Pleasant HS Texas HS Region 20 (10)- Dallas Adams HS Dallas Adamson HS Dallas Hillcrest HS Dallas Jefferson HS Dallas Sunset HS Dallas Wilson HS DeSoto HS Ennis HS (Military Band) Highland Park HS Red Oak HS Non-Varsity: Dallas Samuell HS Dallas South Oak Cliff HS Dallas White HS Region 21 (6)- Hallsville HS Jacksonville HS Lufkin HS Nacogdoches HS Tyler HS Whitehouse HS if all these bands do stay as 5A and don't switch to NV or go to 6A (Lakeview and DeSoto), then 37 bands total are in this area
  17. Ok everyone so I found all the bands that will be apart of Area J- 6A Area J (Region 2, 24, 25): Region 2 (9)- Braswell HS Byron Nelson HS Denton Guyer HS Hebron HS Flowermound HS Lewisville HS Marcus HS Northwest HS V.R. Eaton HS Region 24 (5)- Little Elm HS McKinney Boyd HS McKinney HS Prosper HS Rock Hill HS Region 25 (7)- Allen HS Plano East HS Plano HS Plano West HS Princeton HS Wylie East HS Wylie HS This means 21 bands total for the Area and that if all 21 receive a 1 at Regional, then 4 bands will advance from this area.
  18. Maybe there will be a switch on how the state advancement process will work?
  19. I also wanted to mention that the judge panel includes the head directors for Vista Ridge (Shawn Murphy) and Prosper (Aaron Renzenbrink), the assistant director of Prosper HS (Aaron Dugger), Former Head Director of Duncanville HS (David Brandon), Jed Weeks of Blue Knights DBC, and Dr. Andy Eldridge of UTA for percussion! This is a great judge panel!
  20. The second ever Melissa Marching Showcase will be taking place on September 28th, 2024 at Coach Kenny Deel Stadium! This year is shaping up to have quite a turn out with some big returns and some first time bands! It will truly be quite a show this year! Really excited to see Lonestar make a return again and 10 bands will be making their first appearance at this contest, which includes Argyle HS and McKinney HS! Participating Bands as of 08/13/2024- Small School Divison (2A-4A) (Unchanged): Canton HS Celina HS China Spring HS Community HS Italy HS North Lamar HS Sulphur Springs HS Whitewright HS Large School Divison (5A-6A): Anna HS Argyle HS Benton HS (Louisiana) Denton Ryan HS Frisco Heritage HS Frisco Independence HS Frisco Liberty HS Frisco Lone Star HS (Reigning Champion) Frisco Memorial HS Garland HS Lakeview Centennial HS Lebanon Trail HS Lovejoy HS McKinney HS North Forney HS Plano Jasper HS Rock Hill HS Rowlett HS Exhibition: Melissa HS University of Texas Arlington
  21. I'm enjoying these comments over the new Cypress school XD. Anyways I'm really excited about this area and hope they can send 6 bands to state this year
  22. I really hope Tarpon Springs does go because I would really love to see 2 of the best AA schools in BOA to go up against each other. Would really be something no one would want to miss
  23. Guess who's back :). The 2023 state marching season was truly one of the best we have seen in a long time, and I feel 2024 will be a step up from that. Even though we are months away from any contests, I thought it would be fun to bring the 5A State contest topic back for another year. Many changes are going to happen this year, so please ensure to look at all the other topics that will be covering all the areas (And don't worry, the every Area Results topic will be making its return). Can't wait to see how each area will shape up this year to make this state contest one to remember!
