Huh, never knew that. I do feel like North Lamar has a good show this year and I can't wait to see the full show!

From what I saw- Wakeland- the best show overall From the group, wouldn't be surprised if they take 1st again Lone Star- Fantastic music and visuals are really cool, should place 2nd and could be fighting for 1st. Lebanon Trail- Back with a vengeance this year and I feel is going to place 3rd/4th here McKinney North- Fun show. Its played very well and they definitely have a chance at possibly fighting for that final state spot with Argyle Reedy- I was really impressed with them. I will be surprised if they don't make finals here Walnut Grove- They looked and sounded really good! Definitely a band I see making finals. Melissa- I felt they were slightly better than Liberty, but it could be the other way around. They sound great and have cool visuals, but they really need to work on spacing and alignment Liberty- I felt that they did have a better show overall compared to Melissa, but I don't know if they will make finals. Hopefully they prove me wrong! This area is definitely going to be a bloodbath after what we got at Prosper. Everyone has stepped up their game even more and should make this contest really fun to watch

I marched that Melissa show. It was our 2018 show when we did The Colony (ants theme). It did remind me of that.

When i saw it at melissa, yeah. Felt like it was such a random place to stop.

Melissa HS definitely looks and sounds a lot better since I last watched them, but still noticed some out of place people when they did straight lines. It also seemed that some spacing wasn't right

My bad. I always forget that there is like 3 or 4 bands that could be under that abriviation (Timber Creek, The Colony, Texas City, etc...). Changed it

Alright, Lone Star has my favorite show of the year so far. This is an AMAZING show!!!

McKinney North: HELLO McKinney North!!! Fantastic first hit! The music is so catchy! Their use of playing big and loud is interesting. Definitely letting us know that they are here! They look great visually. Bad moon on the Rise sounded amazing!!!! The vocalist sounds fantastic! The trumpet and trombone soloist did Amazing! This show is so good! The blend of the band with the vocalist sounded fantastic! The show is fun and just fits so well with the show style McKinney North has found over the last few years. I would be surprised if they don't make state this year. This year just keeps proving that it is going to be a bloodbath at 5A Area B. Phenomenal job McKinney North HS!! With that, Block 1 is complete! I'll be watching the rest of prelims, but won't be posting anything. What a great start to the day!

Liberty: Im forgetting the instrument name's (they are percussion instruments), but unique to see percussion as the opening duet! Nice first hit! Great job to the trumpet soloist! The woodwinds sound good! Im liking the visuals as well! Great job to the clarinet duet. Always nice to see a euphonium solo! The slow movement sounds great! Nice build up from the band into the big hit of the slow movement! Overall, great performance Liberty HS!

Propser: The way they are entering the field is really unique! Love the opener! Fantastic job to the french horn soloist in the beginning! HELLO PROSPER!! That first big hit was really good! The visuals look really cool. The articulation in the brass sounds amazing! The quartet sounded great! Fantastic Job to the duet in the slow movement. Sounded fantastic! That big hit in the slow movement sounded nice! Felt it ended abruptly, but sounded amazing regardless. The visuals look so good! I think they could possibly sneak into finals at state this year if they keep up this momentum! Amazing performance Prosper HS!!

Little Elm: Just looking at the props and first visual, I have feeling it will be a good show! Tuba duet, love to see it!!! Fantastic job on the opener! The visuals look soooo good! Cool to see someone singing! Great duet from the clarinet/singer! And The blend with the rest of the bands in the big hit of the slow movement was Fantastic! Love the eye visual! Amazing job Little Elm HS!!!

Commerce: I liked the unravel visual in the beginning! They sound good, but it does feel like some people are louder than others. Fantastic job to the clarinet/flute duet in the beginning as well! Great job to the Mello/Trombone duet in the slow movement. Good build up to the rest of the band as well. Good job on the visuals. I do feel spacing needs to be worked on a bit, but was not a major issue overall. The use of the same music in the opener and towards the end is interesting. Great job to the clarinet soloist on the high notes! Not easy to hit, but sounded good. Overall, nice performance from Commerce HS!

Wylie: Im already a fan of this show after I heard the music they would be performing. The show idea is unique, as it hits close to home for me. Fantastic job to the bassoon soloist! The band sounds really good! Also the marching techniques and visuals look great! The slow movement is great, the saxophone solo blending in with the front ensemble sounded fantastic! Also great build up to the big hit! The woodwinds sounded great while playing Video Killed the Radio Star. That build into The Show Must Go On by Queen is SOOOO good! AMAZING JOB Wylie!!!!

Whitesboro: Great chance to see them before UIL contests. They sound great, but it did feel like they lost timing for a second after the first hit. Cool to see a small school having unique uniforms that match the show theme! Marching looks good. One of the props fell down when being moved around, but good save from the 2 memebers who were able to get it back up and moving again before another prop or memeber could have hit/tripped on the prop. Overall, Great performance from Whitesboro HS
