6A Divison 2: FINAL: DeSoto 74 - Humble Summer Creek HS 14 Congratulations to DeSoto HS out of DeSoto, TX on winning their 3rd UIL Football State Title! This is the first time that DeSoto has won Back-to-Back titles in School History! DeSoto HS finishes their season 15-0 and ends the season by Defeating Summer Creek HS out of Houston, TX. DeSoto had arguably one of the best season's for any Football Program as they were able to Defeat Duncanville HS in a District game, and broke the record for most touchdowns in the 6A State Championship with a record number 74, and they had 60 points more than their opponent. DeSoto HS got to the State Championship by defeating some notable opponents including Wylie East HS, Willis HS, Cedar Hill HS, and Southlake Carroll, which was probably their best game of the season because of how close it was. DeSoto HS will be moving back down to 5A next year, and this was an epic way to end their 6A run (for now). We could possibly see another clash of the titans in the 5A Divison 1 scene between Aledo and DeSoto, so definitely be watching for that next year! Congratulations again to both teams on making it to the State Championship and Congratulations again to DeSoto HS on winning their 3rd State Title! With that, the UIL Football Season has come to an end. My next post will include all winners.

6A Divison 1: FINAL: Duncanville 49 - Galena Park North Shore 33 Congratulations to Duncanville HS out of Duncanville, TX on winning their 3rd UIL Football State Title! This is the first time that Duncanville HS has won Back-to-Back titles in School History! Duncanville HS finishes their season 14-1 and ends the season by Defeating their rival North Shore HS out of Houston, TX in the 5th edition of this clash of the titans in High School football! Duncanville HS got to the State Championship by defeating some notable opponents including The Woodlands HS, Westfield HS, and North Crowley HS to have another chance to win a State Championship in Football. Congratulations to both teams on making it to the State Championship for another re-match and congratulations again to Duncanville HS on winning their 3rd Title!

5A Divison 2: FINAL: Port Neches-Groves 20 - Dallas South Oak Cliff 17 Congratulations to Port Neches-Groves HS out of Port Neches, TX on winning their 4th State title! Port Neches-Groves HS finishes their season 15-1 and ends the season by Defeating 2 time reigning State Champion South Oak Cliff HS out of Dallas, TX. This is the 4th time that Port Neches-Groves has won the UIL State Football title, with their last one being in 1975. That is 48 years ago!!! Port Neches-Groves got to the State game by knocking out opponents such as Lake Creek HS, Huntsville HS, and Liberty Hill HS to get to the State Championship for the second year in a row. This game was definitely a great one as they won by 3 points in this epic Re-match! Congratulations to both teams on making it to the State Championship and congratulations again to Port Neches-Groves HS on winning their 4th State Title in 48 years!

5A Divison 1: FINAL: Aledo 51 - Comal Smithson Valley 8 Congratulations to Aledo HS out of Aledo, TX on winning Title #12 and keeping the title of High School with most Football State Championship wins! Aledo HS finishes their season 16-0 and ends the season by Defeating Smithson Valley HS out of Spring Branch, TX. Aledo showed dominance in this game and were able to get their 12th game and become the 4th team this season to successfully Defend their title, joining Benjamin HS, Albany HS, and Gunter HS. Aledo HS would get to the State Championship by defeating teams such as Red Oak HS, Abilene HS, and Forney HS to make it to their 14th State Football appearance. Congratulations to both teams on making it to the State Championship and Congratulations to Aledo HS on winning their 12th State Football Title! This concludes Day 3 of the UIL State Football Championships. Tomorrow will be the 4th and Final Day of the State Championships and we will be in for a real treat! 5A Divison 2 will see the rematch between Dallas South Oak Cliff HS and Port Neches-Groves HS in what should be a fun game to watch! The game everyone should watch will be happening in the 6A Divison 1 State game as we will be seeing Duncanville HS taking on Galena Park North Shore HS in the 5th Re-match in the last 5 of 6 years. And to Finish off the State Championships, we will be seeing DeSoto HS taking on Summer Creek in their first State Appearance in the 6A Divison 2 game! Best of luck to all competing Tomorrow!

4A Divison 2: FINAL: Gilmer 28 - Bellville 26 Congratulations to Gilmer HS out of Gilmer, TX for winning their 4th UIL Football State Title! Gilmer HS finishes the season 13-3 and ends the season by Defeating Bellville HS out of Bellville, TX in what I would consider to be the best game of the State Championship so far! Gilmer HS would get to the State Championship by beating out one of their rivals, Carthage HS. Congratulations to both Teams on making it to the State Championship and Congratulations again to Gilmer HS on getting Title #4! Fun Fact- Gilmer finishes with the lowest record for this season with a 13 win to 3 lose ratio.

4A Divison 1: FINAL: Anna 26 - Tyler Chapel Hill 0 Congratulations to Anna HS out of Anna, TX on winning their FIRST UIL Football State Title! This was their first time at the Championship and they now join Timpson HS on winning in their first State Appearance for the 2023 season! They also join Timpson HS and Malakoff HS on winning their first State Titles! Anna HS finishes the season 15-1 and end's it by Defeating Chapel Hill HS out of Tyler, TX in a Shut-Out game at the State Championship. Anna would get to the State Game by defeating some notable opponents including 2021 and 2022 State Champion China Spring HS, Panther Creek HS, and 2021 State Champion Stephenville HS. Anna would have a rematch with Decatur HS to advance to the State Championship. Congratulations to both teams on advancing to the UIL Football State Championships and congratulations to Anna HS on winning their 1st State Title and joining the winning circle in Collin County! Best of Luck to Anna HS next year as they will be moving up to the 5A Divison

3A Divison 2: FINAL: Gunter 30 - El Maton Tidehaven 14 Congratulations to Gunter HS out of Gunter, TX on winning their 4th UIL Football State Title! They join Benjamin HS and Albany HS on successfully defending their title from the year before! Gunter HS finishes the season 16-0 and end's their season Defeating Tidehaven HS out of El Maton, TX. Gunter HS represented Grayson County in this game! Congratulations to both teams on making it to the State Championship and congratulations again to Gunter HS on winning their 4th State Title! That concluded Day 2 of the UIL Football State Championships. Today we get to see 4A Divison 1, the match-up between first time advancer Anna HS going up against Tyler Chapel Hill, 4A Divison 2 with Gilmer HS facing up against Bellville HS, who is advancing to the state championship for the first time in over 40 years, and the 5A Divison 1 match-up between Aledo HS and Smithson Valley. Best of luck to all the teams competing! Also wanted to mention that there has been a trend with this Championship where a new winner is crowned in Divison 1 and the reigning champion takes the win in Divison 2. it will be broken today though since neither 4A divisions have their reigning champion.

3A Divison 1: FINAL: Malakoff 14 - Franklin 7 Congratulations to Malakoff HS out of Malakoff, TX for winning their FIRST UIL Football State Title! They are the second team to Win their first State Football Title this year, joining Timpson HS from 2A Divison 1. This is their second appearance at state, with their last one being in 2018. Malakoff HS ended their season 16-0 and ends the season by Defeating Franklin HS out of Franklin, TX. Congratulations to both teams on making it to the State Championship and congratulations again to Malakoff HS on winning their 1st State Title!

2A Divison 2: FINAL: Albany 28- Mart 10 Congratulations to Albany HS out of Albany, TX on winning the first Title of the day and their 4th State Title! They are the 2nd team to successfully defend their State Football Title from the year before, joining Benjamin HS from 1A D2. Albany HS finishes their season 16-0 and end the season by Defeating Mart HS out of Mart, TX in the 2A Divison 2 rematch. Congratulations to both teams on making it to the State Championship and congratulations to Albany HS on winning their 4th State title!

2A Divison 1: FINAL: Timpson 49 - Tolar 7 Congratulations to Timpson HS out of Timpson, TX on winning their FIRST UIL State Football Championship in School History! They are the first team of the 2023 Championships to do so! Timpson HS is ending their season 16-0 and ends their season Defeating Tolar HS out of Tolar, TX. This is only the beginning for these programs and I'm sure we will see them make returns in the future! Congratulations to both teams for making it to the State Championship and Congratulations to Timpson HS on their FIRST Championship! Also wanted to wish the best of luck to Tolar HS as they are moving up to the 3A Divison in 2024. This concludes Day 1 of the UIL Football State Championships! Tomorrow we will see 2A Divison 2, the Rematch between Albany HS and Mart HS, 3A Divison 1 between Franklin HS and Malakoff HS, and 3A Divison 2 between Gunter HS and Tidehaven HS.

1A Division 2: FINAL- Benjamin 82 - Oglesby 34 Congratulations to Benjamin HS out of Benjamin, TX for winning their 2nd State Title! They are the first Team to successfully defend their State Title from the year before! Benjamin HS finishes their season 15-0 and ends their season defeating Oglesby HS out of Oglesby, TX. Congratulations to both teams on making it to the State Championship, and Congratulations again to Benjamin HS on their 2nd State Title!

1A Divison 1: FINAL- Gordon 70 - Westbrook 20 Congratulations to Gordon HS out of Gordon, TX for taking the first State title of the day and capping off an amazing season! This marks their third title, with their last one being in 1999, almost three decades ago! Gordon HS finishes the season 15-0 and end's their season defeating 2 time reigning State Champion Westbrook HS out of Westbrook, TX. Congratulations to both teams on making it to the State Championship, and congratulations once again to Gordon HS on getting their third Football State Title!

This will be the 5th time that we see North Shore and Duncanville face off in the State Championship for football! 4A is the only conference where neither Divison 1 or 2 have a returning team or returning State Champion from 2022 Finally 5 teams are making their first State Appearance, and one of the teams, Anna HS, is coming in defeating the teams that won the State Championship in 2021 and 2022 for Divison 1, that being China Spring HS and Stephenville HS. Legit, North Lamar VS Area C. Its not a specific rivalry with a specific school, but I always felt that it was always Area C bands trying to dethrone North Lamar every time at Area and they would always come out on top. One of my favorite Area's to watch because of it Another example I can think of is Argyle VS Area B when they were a 3A-4A. Argyle HS normally won the area, but in some moments, mainly in 2016, a school would place above them. I think the only schools that come to mind for me is Canton HS and Princeton HS

I'm legit surprised no one created this topic. This season has been real hectic as we get down to the final 2 in each divison for Football. Some things I wanted to note- - China Spring was knocked out of the playoffs by Anna HS. Anna faces off against 2021 4A Divison 1 State Football Champion Stephenville HS this week, and I highly recommend you watch the game! - Dallas South Oak Cliff is looking to add their third straight title this year, and already knocking out favorites such as Melissa HS and Midlothian Heritage HS, this season is shaping to look like they can. This week they face Love Joy HS, this game will be a very good one! - Forney HS is back in the top 8 for the first time since '02. Big congratulations to them! - This year, we could be seeing many repeat champions, or possible champions that could return from the past! Definitely be watching for who comes out on top this weekend! Games to watch- - Stephenville HS VS Anna HS- 4A Divison 1 - Gilmer HS VS Carthage HS- 4A Divison 2 - Dallas South Oak Cliff HS VS Love Joy HS- 5A Divison 2 Best of luck on the rest of the season to all who are still in it!
