No? I bet they havent even made state or even area, noone has ever really talked about them in these marching band forums at all so they probably opened recently, new directors and all that, I dont see them making finals at any BOA regional for another 10-30 years

yeah bro it's this new school that opened near frisco. you know how it is there's like a new school up there like every week. they sound pretty mid imo, no chance of making finals. they'll probably win things when i die.

  2. 1. Coppell (They have the upper hand with the harder show imo. Kept tabs on them for a while. It is very possible that Wax could beat them- purely on cleanliness)

    2. Waxahachie (france show and really clean- would've probably beat keller at duncanville)

    3. Keller (they're not the keller from years prior- i highly doubt they'll be visually clean but they have a high chance is having a great music run. imo their music was really mid during duncanville. no clue how they tied with wakeland there(haven't seen their run) but they'll be a state lock)

    4. Timber Creek (like ive said before, the show is not very hard. it's a good show. the show is easy to clean. they've been consistently clean since the start. they will not miss.)

    5. LD Stinkin Bell (this is a very wild card for me. bell will do FANTASTIC in marching. music on the other hand? very huge wild card for me. ive noticed their music has definitely gotten cleaner since stl and im not sure if m they're really driven towards area. but we will know saturday night or alternatively monday)

6/7: Duncanville (haven't seen this show. but this is all i keep hearing about. funny enough this show best describes every experience ive had with dart)

6/7: Southlake Carroll (im very nervous about how slc will do. they haven't had much luck so far despite having such a cool show and designed for nats. they may have cleaned heavily to get this show up and running to make state and nats finals or they could have done very little. slc is very up in the air and i would not be surprised if they miss or make it)

    8. Lake Ridge (despite how clean they are, i think the uil judges may hold them back, but they could place much higher than i expect them to.)

    9. Keller Central (i think they could be higher but not less than 9th. they have a good show. not sure on how much they've improved but i don't think they would be superbly clean by area)

    10. Highland Park (idk its a band in dallas county so i wouldn't know)

    11. Haltom (they're making finals. the show can get cleaned easily.)

    12. Martin (cope. my sources are telling me they're gonna have a great shot in making finals. hopefully dfw ego boost lol)

Congratulations to everyone here! Yesterday was such an amazing day, and yes I was on cite until the finals retreat ended(although I did get dinner between prelims and finals). I defiantly surprised that Southlake didn't make it over Martin, but both programs were amazing, and Southlake did have some major issues with their props in prelims. I don't really agree with the finals rankings just based on what I saw and heard... this is what I had

    Hebron(all captions)

    Flomo

    Marcus

    Coppell

    Wakeland

    TC

    Keller

    Waxahachie

    LoneStar

    Bell
    Rockhill

    James Martin

I have absolutely no hate for LD Bell, but their run last night was so dirty, especially musically. There was a good amount of girt in the brass, and their cover ups were not very clean. Thier Oboe soloist however sounded fantastic, but it was just a very easy show compared to everyone I had above them, and Imo was a lot dirtier, but I'm not a judge, just don't think that they were 6th, and the fact that they were 5th in prelims doesn't make sense either. Come Area, I have a feeling we will be seeing some major changes, and I really believe TC and Keller will jump over them. But great job to everyone! Hebron is once again cracked and yes, they will be undefeated this season.

yes! ld bell totally has an easy show! [park and bark is kept to an extent- will be obvious with full closer later on. they're not forming easy to clean grids and simple lines, but rather elaborate sets with tons of curves that aren't necessarily easy to keep clean and perfect. the music is also a major step up compared to previous years so that must mean that it's definitely be easy for bell's standards! and then the overall show design is actually good despite the design team change. and of course, bell knows how to play in boa.]

side note, loud doesn't = good

There will be tears, there will be cheers and I think there will be some surprises. Go cry about it! LOL. What we know for sure is that it's going to be an incredible day of band!

the fact that this year will actually be a bloodbath is really gripping my brain now. there will definitely be tons of surprises and twists and turns. at the end of the day, it's really up to the students if they're determined to do incredible.

I hardly think the situations that dire for HP.

I’d comfortably have them comfortably below Timber Creek but above Duncanville, Haltom, Martin and Keller Central, director changes and all.

I’m not sure if Prosper is in this area but I can’t imagine they’ll miss state if they are. Peel back one of Wax or SLC to make it in.

prosper is in area c. looked at hp's director list and they seem alright but they're still looking like a wild card for me.

If HP makes state finals i will be soooo happy! Loved Play and Sugar Rush soooo much!

yeah no. 6a area b will most likely not let this happen LMAO

    1. entire staff change [directors can actually determine how the season goes. good directors = good teaching + good progress]
    2. literally everyone in area b is cracked/competitive [you literally have strong programs trying to kill each other for an appearance at state]
    3. they may be in the bottom half of finals

take this with a huge grain of salt since i haven't heard much about what else is going on over there (especially with their show and the current state of their band)

also my too-early predictions for area b: coppell, keller, wax, slc, bell/timber creek/dville, [i have not heard much about the other programs in this area] but i'll go ahead and give really poor predictions from here: lake ridge, kcent, possibly martin, haltom, and hp? [can't tell too much with how these judges actually judge prelims and how these other programs are doing atm]

Would be interesting to see Cedar Ridge or Keller win! But I am going to say I could see a band like Marcus or maybe Vandegrift take the win this year. But I would love to someone new in the Top 3 this year!

it'll most likely be hebron vs vandy again. been doing some digging around. could also see vista, possibly coppell, and flomo medal. not exactly sure on how the other southern bands will do
