2022 6A UIL State
FaultLineBlues replied to BandFan59's topic in Past Contests, Events, and Festivals Archive
It's not based on guard numbers, it's based on the individual marchers and guard members, and the consistency and quality of their individual marching or choreo, rather than the large scale image being created. Also, it's alright to not like a show, but it does feel kinda sour grapey to have this be one of the first things you say after results come out. I'm not even a percussionist and I can see why CRs drumline got first, they're precise in their playing, and play unique and hard stuff very well. (not to say other programs don't, I just find CR drumline writing to be unique) -

Can't put into words how stoked my whole section was for Cedar Ridge. The band mom in front of me was in full tears, and I can't even blame her. What a moment for them! -

Was Cedar Ridge streamed? The screen never cut to the stream in the stadium. -

Looks like the top half bottom half split was true, if the draw list is to be believed. -

Slightly less musically consistent run from Hebron today, but still unbelievable to watch in person! -

I thought having such a quick turnaround between BOA and UIL would cause a little bit of fatigue, but both Cedar Ridge and CTJ just had their best runs of the season, absolutely stellar runs. (I'm sorry for leaving out other bands, I missed them) (sidenote: I've never seen someone lose a shoe mid performance but it happened in CTJs run lmao) -
Not sure how I feel about Flower Mound this year. I'm supposed to believe the mighty heroes at FloMo would see villains in their midst and not immediately take them out? But instead have a woodwind feature with them? Unfathomable. I'm kidding, that was my favorite show of the day, hands down! Fun, creative, and full of commitment from the students!
