I mentioned it earlier, but heavily agreed on Cedar Ridge! Things clicked in a way they haven't before imo

Whoa, Cedar Ridge just had their best run of the season imo It's the first time I've seen the vision of the show really start to click! The brass also cranked it a lot more volume wise. Very excited to see more!

I also found this video of Cedar Ridge's exhibition! I'm still on the search for a Lake Travis recording to complete the collection! Thank you for your recordings! Archiving performances is something I think is super important.

Really fell in love with Vandy and Rouse's shows at this event, after coming off lukewarm about both after BOA Austin! (design-wise, not performance wise)

They're getting crazy blend on their sound, and I think the closer easily has my favorite music and drill writing of the show, even if it's short. Just hoping they can crank the volume a bit more as we start to enter this tail end of the season!

Oh, I have no doubts that a lot of these shows will be more fleshed out as the season progresses! I just feel like some of the bases that a lot of these shows are built on are just less interesting conceptually than what was being done last year.

Maybe it was just me, but did anyone kinda struggle to connect with a lot of the shows yesterday? There were a few that stood out, but nothing that seemed head and shoulders above the rest. The students were all performing at a crazy level, but I just thought a lot of the design was lacking for this time of year.

Ever since I saw them, I was trying to remember what Round Rock's unis reminded me of. It's corn. They're marching corn. (on an actual note, the singing at the end of the closer was a nice touch)

Interested to see where Cedar Ridge's show goes this season. It lacks some of the immediate punchiness musically that their past two productions had, and opens kinda abruptly, which makes me wonder if there's a pre-show they just aren't doing at games yet. There's a ton of room for musicality, and the ballad is super pretty. Also, I'm obviously just watching through a crappy football game stream and it's super early, so I don't think my comments are 100% set in stone. I'm also interested to see the visual/prop package they bring this year, after having some pretty fun ones the past two years. More than anything, I'm just waiting to see their interpretation of the Jacob Collier cover of All Night Long!

By the way, if anyone manages to find a video of finals awards I'd love to see it!
