It does feel a little incongruent with the point of BOA becoming biased and causing bands to try USBands when three of the bands that are going to Arlington are Hebron, Flower Mound and Marcus. Three bands that are historically very successful in the BOA circuit, if there WAS bias (which I don't think there's much of), wouldn't they be groups that seem to benefit from it?

2024 BOA Round Rock (Sept. 21)
FaultLineBlues replied to LeanderMomma's topic in Past Contests, Events, and Festivals Archive
Sometimes I have to wonder what BOA does wrong vs TMC when it comes to making the sound system at Kelly Reeves work lmao At TMC they play whole videos and all of the announcements are super clear, but at BOA it's always inaudible. -

Maybe Westlakes problems got sorted out? They came on with their own pit equipment and their props as well. -
Football 🏈 Halftime Shows

Skip to 1:29:30 to catch Cedar Ridge, if you're willing to deal with some (seriously) choppy sound lmao I was already pretty impressed with the visual tie-in to the theme with choreography and drill, but it's even better with music in! -

Decided to give this a watch and give my thoughts since I hadn't seen anyone else's thoughts yet! M&G Johnson: Their guard had some really fun choreo and character moments last year and that continues into this year! The dancer quartet on what I presume to be the dance floor prop was fun and I'm excited to see it with music! The drill writing is pretty effective, and uses the size of the program pretty well, a lot of those follow the leader sets are just fun to watch. My only "complaint" if you could call it that, is that I'd like it if the dance floor was a little bigger! Cedar Ridge: The overall choreography, staging and drill makes it immediately clear what the show is about, and they're all in on the pendulum imagery, from various choreo moves like swinging arms and swaying legs, and a really neat drill visual with a soloist in a giant pendulum that swings from side to side, I'm really happy with what I'm seeing in terms of taking the concept and running with it. I feel like this is visually closer to their 2022 production than last year, and I appreciate it for that. -
Yes, it's definitely the Cedar Ridge parents that seem cocky and/or pretentious in this exchange, and not you. Considering your posts are almost exclusively pertaining to Vista Ridge, or disparaging other programs, I'd be careful with the way I speak on boards like this. You represent your program to the community, and going as far as to kick a program that had a rough season when they're already down is pretty ridiculous and immature. The message you responded to, was obviously a student hurting from not making finals, but they still went out of their way to uplift Vista Ridge. I've seen plenty of Vista parents, both in person, and on community platforms, represent their band in ways that I disagree with, but I don't let it effect my viewpoint of the talented kids on field. It seems you could learn to do the same.

Yes, but Cedar Ridge, Round Rock, McNeil and Westwood are all RRISD, which makes the total of RRISD bands in that list 4. I should also clarify I'm not like 100% confident in my prediction, I missed a few group that I'd consider state finalist potentials. I'm just going off of what I have seen today. -

I thought McNeil did pretty well, so I wouldn't be fully surprised if the state qualifiers were Reagan, Cedar Ridge, Round Rock, McNeil, and Westwood, bringing the total of RRISD to 4. Although, none of my predictions are solid! -

After watching McNeil, I must say that there's a non-zero chance that 4 RRISD bands make state.
