I saw a clip of their closer online awhile back, though I cant find it anymore. It was pretty good! Not sure where to exactly place them, I can see them around the 4th - 9th range. Their show is good but I do prefer last years more.

After watching Lumberton's outstanding performance at Lone Star Preview, they are on track to do great things in a few weeks. I am impressed with what they have in the show so far, oh my lord those woodwinds are fire. Definitely makes me think back to when they got a 23 in woodwinds last year at State... yeah they upped the woodwinds this year. OH, and the percussion got a 21 last year.... they have a kick a** feature this year, just sayin. lol Overall, how do yall feel about an entirely new area champion? I'm not naming anyone specific, just throwing it out there lol

I'm not 100% sure, however I think it's because of the sheer quality of the bands. There are just so many really good bands for only 10 spots.

I liked your predictions until I noticed your 12th place. I personally dont see Brazoswood making finals. I also would bring Klein Oak down a few spots and move up Klein Collins to the 7 - 10 range.

You are not going to see any videos of Lumberton or Bridge City until after Region which happens on the 18th. Many programs here in SETX are very strict with videos of the shows being online. As far as I am aware, I have the only video online of Lumberton, but that performance was all the way back on September 12th. (Don't worry about finding it, I have the video unlisted.) What I will share though, is that Lumberton and Bridge City should still be in the discussions of advancing to State. Both are looking stronger than they have been in the past. Lumberton specifically is doing amazing with their show and the work they are doing to clean it up. They are specifically gunning after State Finals, which would be a first in program history. I am still waiting on the comments from people about Lumberton being an average 4A band and not really up to the level of the other 4A bands in Area C, to then watch Lumberton and Bridge City place in the top 4 in Prelims, and then Top 6 in Finals....

Its been an issue every marching season since the site was redone back in 2020 or 2021

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, if you care about getting points to your overall score, submit your predictions for the Capital City Marching Festival. Submissions are to be accepted until 2:00am CST on the day of the event!

Aww, thank you so much for the kind words! That really means a lot. Not many people know this, but running the Predictions game brings a bit of light stress my way. I try to be a perfectionist, and that’s not always easy when some contests don’t finalize their details until the last minute. lol I’ve said it before.. this game may seem like a small part of the site, but people keep coming back year after year. It might not be the most visible feature, but it’s quietly helping build something special, a community that shares a deep love for Texas Bands and the marching arts. And that is why, since 2022, that I've kept returning year after year as the TXBands Predictions Administrator, because of the love I have for this community and for the Texas Marching Band scene that is unraveling all around us each and every year. Sorry, I just felt the need to share this to you and everyone else on this site.

TBH I did not approve or add that contest, as I would've left The Woodlands off the predictions entirely instead of how it is now with the majority of course putting the band on their predictions. I may still go in and take The Woodlands off however if anyone has not done the predictions yet for this contest, I recommend just leaving them out if you know they are prelims only.

What I normally do is wait until about a week or two til the event and then approve it. I do that in case groups get added or dropped. It can be rather annoying to have to constantly go back in and update the event. Doing that makes it to where you can update your predictions but not everyone checks up on their predictions after they have submitted them, and that too can be frustrating to find out that your prediction you made for the event had groups not even there and then groups that were there but were not given to you when you were doing your prediction. Hopefully that made sense. That's why I wait to approve these events til the schedules come out and finalized.

If I recall, Mesquite Marching Festival does not give out full rankings. Only top 3 in each Class. That is normally why I dont accept that festivals. Most festivals either do class awards or divisions.

Placed 6th in Finals. If that doesn't make you consider Valley View a possible threat for top 2 then I don't know anything anymore lol

Instead of letting the two class winners perform exhibition thus leaving out only Gatesville from getting a 2nd run, they are gonna have all 3 perform.

oh for sure seeing things in person makes a huge difference! As much as I like seeing Celina have the success they are having, I do want to see someone overtake them.
