And of course... our stadium time for practice is wed.

Our kids will fly out wed night. The trucks will leave either late Tuesday night or early wed morning. I think we keep our prelim on Friday just to make sure the trucks have some wiggle room to get there. Last time they had a practice Thursday afternoon once the trucks arrived.

I would like to stop by, but probably won’t be one to count on for more than a quick hello... I’m traveling with my hubby that’s a bit of an introvert... so it’s still in negotiation what we will be doing in our free time we spend outside of LOS. But I really do hope I can talk him into a brief visit- or convince him to go do something on his own while I stop by and meet people.

I’m biased obviously.... but will wait to say my top (other than my bias) after I actually get to see a lot of them in San Antonio. I haven’t had a chance to see enough of them to choose yet.

I’m sure we would not be able to miss a UIL for a BOA. It would affect our school and district and all the other UIL activities/sports at the school and in the district.

Depends on how you define “required”

Not sure how my schedule will go today. If I have a chance I may get over there for some of the stuff before 4pm. I’m chaperoning our band though so have to go meet them and do that stuff. We might get there in time to hear 5a results- but that’s not for sure.

Anyone from the Dallas area? Just wondering how the band families up there fared during the storms/tornado this morning.

The director referred to BOA Houston as us limping in on crutches. The night before for the football game was the very first time we were able to get the kids in the full sailor uniforms after a month of fittings and alterations because what was ordered and what came were not the same... Those props showed up that Thursday as well- so the kids were just barely starting to get used to them. I feel like the crutches are gone and we are getting some momentum. (Knock on wood!) I’m excited to see where they take the show in the next month...

I don't know what program it is, but TWHS started using an app either 2017 season or 2018... not positive which it was. It seems to be a great system and definitely makes it easier to give out their parts to the kids and for everyone to be prepared.

Looks like this week will be hit or miss for Houston area bands if they get practices in. For us it’s high chance of rain tomorrow afternoon, wed is homecoming parade, Thursday might be the only clear day for practice... then homecoming game Friday and dance Saturday... and rain next week Monday, and hopefully clear for UIL tuesday.

Oak ridge won... I didn’t catch the numbers. Brazoswood was 2nd, and I can’t remember anything else. I’m sure someone will get in here with numbers soon. We are just barely getting home from it.

Yep in the 90’s for rehearsal yesterday... 75 and humid and muggy when I dropped off at 7am this morning, and 58 and dropping right now at 11:15am. Tomorrow’s weather will be great for contests!

See that makes sense in my mind... He’s just always been one of the first to download/upgrade/etc- since we were in college. He does app deployment/end user stuff... I can use the IT vocabulary, but I don’t know much more than that. Lol!

My hubby is in IT and can’t fathom why I don’t jump and update it the day it’s released... sometimes he bribes the kids to update their phones because they put it off for so long. ☺️

Mostly just little things... they sometimes mess up us older generations.

We had to get special permission to take the band through there for finals. Prelims and semi finals we had to walk outside and around...

Seriously... at least they won’t have to unload the truck that night? (I hope!) 4 hour bus ride- they’ll get a little more sleep on it.

The props are what they are for today... but don’t think for a moment they won’t become something more in the future.

Not a huge fan of the stadium. I know large blocks of people were going in and out as chaperones... and that’s understandable, but I wish they had ushers stopping people during performances... also the Concourse area is so crowded because they aren’t allowed to use the concessions booths- and have to set up concessions in the walkway... And it’s hot... so hot that I couldn’t video my kids- because my phone shut off because it was overheating... But I loved watching the bands I got to watch. I loved oak ridges music, and Klein (something) with the trains was lots of fun. I was with others and have a hard time keeping track of who I’m watching so can’t give specifics... and had to leave to take care of some uniform stuff and then get back to our town to work a concessions booth for the band tonight... I wish I could have stayed and watched finals tonight and seen Reagan.
