Oh wow! That's shocking, with the grand nats trip upcoming. I expected him to leave within a couple of years, but not yet. I just saw him last week at an event honoring the Keller High Choir Director who just retired.

Don't sleep on Forney! They have been excellent recently.

Wow this is stacking up to be possibly my favorite contest of the year. Could we get a new first time regional champ?

I keep thinking back to JJ Pearce. I loved their show back when they made Waco finals and thought their musicianship was phenomenal. I wouldn't say they are underrated necessarily, but Keller Central often gets forgotten in relation to their Keller counterparts and they are always solid. Trinity is another example of a band that gets overlooked because of the high quality of other local bands but is really good as well.

Waxahachie beat TC by one ordinal and Keller by 2, so it was very close. I think all three have a good shot at finals here with a great run. -

The DFW groups have historically done better at UIL than BOA. That includes LISD north, the Keller schools, Coppell, Waxahachie, Wylie, and Duncanville who will be competing at state this year. I'm not sure in every case that will be true, but overall I think we will see another DFW area school in finals. -

Broken Arrow would pretty much just own the St Louis one 😂 -
I was trying to think back on how many times we heard it and it has to be in the 5-10 range. But it just works so well on the field and brings a lot of energy so I totally understand why bands use it. The only downside to great songs like that is that it is hard not to compare one band's rendition with ones from the past that you really like.
