Why do you say that? Also just realized that my location isn't up to date.

A few weeks ago I would have had Colleyville Heritage in finals here, but I'm not so sure now. I hope they have a great run and are able to sort of turn their season around here.

Wow, that's shocking. And awful. This area really needs at least 4. I think Coppell and Keller are probably locks but that means that there would only be one spot between LD Bell, Timber Creek, SLC, Keller Central, etc.

What are the region dates for this area?

That's Reagan's music design team, right? I don't usually keep up too much with this.

When I was in high school, I was in choir (hence the username). I have a very common first name and it was always so cruel when at all state contests they would read off the names and I'd hear my name and have to wait to find out if it was actually me.

Area D is definitely crazy stacked in a way that seems unfair, but I'm not sure splitting it is the solution. It seems to have only made former area C (now J) even harder when it happened in DFW.

It's tradition at this point for people to vastly overrated the Austin area bands going into this contest. Of course there will be plenty of them in finals and just outside, but we will also see more of the DFW groups in the mix. It's too bad that several of the best groups from up there aren't going this year.

I mean, I got the top half completely right and 5/6 in the bottom half. Wouldn't say I'm cooked.

Maybe SLC will bounce back with a GN finals appearance again. There is precedent, though this year will be way harder.

I didn't see Coppell today, but I had similar thoughts last week about their show design. They are still performing very well, but we're pretty close to being in the bottom half after finals last week and I actually thought Prosper and Wakeland were better in finals. At this point, I would still expect them to medal here and also make finals at state and BOA SA, but I think they will be closer to the bubble groups than those I'd consider locks.

Is this contest going to be broadcast online? I feel like it has been at times in the past, but I might be mixing up which contest I'm thinking of.

Anyone else notice that Elkins places third in music and were one out from making finals? They are honestly a group I haven't really ever heard anything about.

I watched this contest on high cam, but I'm interested to see any multi cam recordings that anyone might have. Would be able to see more of the details. In particular it would be nice to see what Flower Mound was doing with the props on the podium.

Yeah back when you had Prosper, Waxahachie, and Duncanville still in the area. Plus LD Bell and Haltom were a lot stronger. I can't remember if Richland was around that year or not.

I know it is early season, but dripping springs in top half over Cedar Ridge and Round Rock is promising for their hopes of making GNats finals this year.

I don't know why, but I'm getting a strong feeling this will be the year we finally see Timber Creek in finals at either BOA San Antonio or State. Without actually seeing any of it, it seems that we may have a music design that is a step ahead of previous years.

I might need to perform CPR on this dead thread. Crazy considering how this area used to be one of the most talked about.
