This one is slower to fill up than some of the others this year. I hope we see some surprises here soon!

I’ll never forget my daughter’s Senior year at Leander when they medaled at BOA SA with the Fourth Dimension, took seventh their first season as a 6A state band a few days later, and then took 6th at GN 4 days after UIL! 8 days of INSANITY. It was an exhausting but incredible week.

Yes I was sad to see them switch but it’s understandable.

Just did another update. Lots of new bands added including Bastrop. Good for them!

Evidently Rock Hill is planning to attend this one but since it’s also their UIL Region performance day, they are opting only to do prelims.

I loved it too but will agree with you on the show itself being far beyond the sheets for Scholastic A.

Absolutely agree with you. Insanely good. I was thrilled I saw it live in semifinals earlier today because I sat down low and it was in the Nutter center which is more cozy and close feeling. I was absolutely blown away. DB totally deserves that win and would easily have made finals in the Open Class this season as well.

I predicted TWHS in second just behind Tarpon Springs on a podcast the other day but I don’t think the nonTexas folks I was talking to were fully on board with that prediction. I know the expectation is always Carmel and Avon at or near the top and that could still happen, but I just have a feeling that The Woodlands might be what I’ll call “an April Surprise.” 😁

I agree with you and also have mixed feelings about it. While the (rumored) absence of the LISD (north) bands here will be hugely felt, it does indeed open the door for potential new finalists at BOA SA which is something I’ve been wanting to see for years.

It’s looking like it’s going to affect BOA San Antonio far more than it will UIL now unfortunately.
