Just saw both Westwood and Vista Ridge perform. I really like Westwood's show. Definitely the most challenging show I've seen them do the last few years. As for Vista, I stand firmly by my previous assertions: Folks are going to be surprised at just how good they are.

I'll be interested to see them tomorrow night. Hope the weather cooperates.

To a point. We play at Vandy the night before BOA.

I'm kinda digging the fact that so few people have seen Vista. :-)

I would also suggest getting a public petition going. Circulate to the band booster programs of the other schools competing in the regional, as well as here. Put public pressure on the Conroe admin in as many ways as possible. They are showing huge disrespect for their own kids.

One option would be to put out a call to parents and alumni to come play in the stands in place of the band. Surely there would be enough alumni in the area to assemble a decent pep band.

I wouldn't expect the argument to work. But I think it would be worthwhile to make the point of the inconsistency.

Ask them if they would ever consider telling any athletic team they could not compete because they had to go support another organization.

That would be impressive if Westwood took 9th AND 10th.

Funny, but that entire post could apply to Vista Ridge as well. I am very hopeful that they have the entire show on the field for Austin.
