  1. Yeah, 60% chance now doesn't look good. Gotta keep an eye on that.
  2. Cedar Park is considering. Have not heard their decision.
  3. Vista Ridge is not going.
  4. It is going to be interesting how this area plays out, as I think there may be a band or two who could make Finals at State that will not advance from Area. The big key is how many bands get a 1 this weekend (and next Tuesday). I think I have the lineups, but would love it if anybody could correct any errors: Region 8 (Saturday - Midway High School) - A&M Consolidated, Bryan, College Station, Corsicana, Rudder, Temple, University, Waco Region 12 (Saturday - Judson High School) - Alamo Heights, Brackenridge, Burbank, Edison, HIghlands, Jefferson, Lanier, Seguin Region 18 (Tuesday - Toney Burger Center) - Bastrop, Cedar Creek, Connally, Crockett, Dripping Springs, Lanier, LBJ, Lockhart, McCallum, Reagan, San Marcos, Travis Region 26 (Saturday - Kelly Reeves) - Cedar Park, East View, Elgin, Georgetown, Hutto, Leander, Manor, Marble Falls, Vandegrift, Vista Ridge That's 38 bands I count. I would love to see 25 bands advance so that we get 5 State slots.
  5. Yeah. That's no fun for those kids.
  6. Prelims Schedules are out: Friday: http://www.musicforall.org/images/PDFs/2015/Fall/SATX_Final_Packet/FRIDAY_SATX_Prelims_AS_OF_10_14.pdf Saturday: http://www.musicforall.org/images/PDFs/2015/Fall/SATX_Final_Packet/SATURDAY_SATX_Prelims_AS_OF_10_14.pdf
  7. Both Harper and Somerville were at the Vista Ridge festival and were impressive. They have both been to State in recent years and look like good bets to make it back (2A).
  8. So we have one guy that doesn't have Vista Ridge in the TOP 25? And two more pointing out Friendswood beat Vista in prelims at TWC. Ok. I would point out, however, that Vista performed at 9:15am in prelims, third overall. And then they beat Friendswood handily in Finals. Food for thought.
  9. Are you referring to the LISD numbers? If so, those are the projections from the school district for 2015-16 based on rezoning for the opening of Glenn HS.
  10. Leander's projections put it just below the current cutoff. If the UIL raises the cutoff they likely stay 5A.
  11. Edited the Schedule to reflect changes. Bryan moved later, 2nd Break eliminated.
  12. Fewer is defined as "of a smaller number". Zero is obviously a smaller number than one. So my conclusion from your frustrated sigh is that you were being both pedantic and inaccurate.
  13. UIL Area doesn't affect 4A or 6A schools (this year) but it does for 2A, 3A and 5A.
  14. The week after that (Oct 24th) is UIL Area.
  15. Who are the two aside from LISD?
  16. Somebody on Music for All os saying Round Rock got a half point penalty in Finals.
  17. I don't know what BOA's cutoffs are, but LISD's enrollment projections for next year are: Cedar Park - 1879 Leander - 2098 Rouse - 2269 Vandegrift - 2426 Vista Ridge - 2285 Glenn (9th and 10th only) - 676
  18. It's hard to get around the state year issue. LISD bands are only allowed out of state trips in alternating school years. Also, growth in the district is so fast that only Rouse and Leander are projecting any enrollment dip at all when Glenn opens, and even then only slightly.
  19. Gupton Stadium - Cedar Park 12:30 - Weimar 12:45 - Somerville 1:00 - Harper 1:15 - Liberty Hill 1:30 - Burnet 1:45 - BREAK 2:00 - Harlandale 2:15 - J. W. Nixon 2:30 - Connally 2:45 - Burbank 3:00 - Hutto 3:15 - Victoria West 3:30 - Bryan 3:45 - David Crockett 4:00 - McCallum 4:15 - Georgetown 4:30 - Westwood 4:45 - Lehman 5:00 - Jack C. Hays 5:15 - McNeil 5:30 - Westlake 5:45 - Prelim Awards 7:00 - Vista Ridge (Exhibition) 7:30 - Finals Band #1 10:00 - Finals Band #10 10:20 - Drum Major Retreat & Awards
