Like Xenon said, you can have 8 hours per activity. 8 Hours for marching. 8 Hours for concert band (region music included). -

Whoa whoa there is one major technicality that is being missed... Sectionals can still be held as long as its not marching related. That means no marching music or drill is covered. We hold ensembles during marching season for region music, so it doesn't count. And saxwarrior and threevalvecircus, if you go around bragging you break the 8-hour rule, someone who doesn't like your bands will read this and eagerly forward it to UIL. -

There will be many exciting announcements about the 2006 season at Open House! Find out how you can be a part of what could be another record-breaking year.

Well, its the off season for marching, so not many people are around. Though we try to encompass all aspects of band like marching and concert season, marching is more exciting and community oriented with the competitions. We average about 30 - 35 unique visitors per day right now.

Me and Clarinot (who is with us in spirit in Europe) would like to wish a Merry Christmas (or Happy Holidays) to all of our great members, moderators, writers, and groupies (people who post but aren't in band). After just 6 months and 3 days, this website is definitly the best Christmas gift I could ask for. You guys are fantastic! As our gift to the community we will do a spinner drawing! Woo hoo! If you feel like you want to give to us, you know what to do.

I'll fix it tomorrow.

Man, you should get coal in your stocking for mispelling CavAliers.
-
Anyone else? We can't really start this til at least some of the games are full. If you want to play more, just post. No limit I guess.

Well, you will lose most of your tone and warmth that you get with metal. Lexan is just plastic. Technically it won't be affected by heat or cold... But truth be told, all materials are. Plastic just warms/cools faster than metal. I've played on a euphonium one. The colors are cool, but it doesn't help your chops last longer... Assuming your lips vibrate the same with any mouthpiece, they would make your lips wear out just the same.

Are you sure your F#'s weren't 50 Cents Flat?

Blink, Bored, and Fortisimo are added.

Just 1-i? Ok, both of you are added.

I've been playing around with the Arcade and I think I figured out how tournaments work. So here we go... How it works: Each player can play once for each "challenge" The player with the higher score advances After 3 rounds, we have a winner. Rules: Everyone can sign up for 3 games per week. I will keep this post updated to reflect that. Tournaments will begin friday night. Maybe we can do this monthly? Winners won't win anything... Maybe later though. Go ahead and post with the 3 games you want to play, first come first serve. Please copy and paste this format: Games: Collapse 1-i Asteroids Breakout Hexxagon Monster Hatch Moon Lander Pacman Simon Snake Space Invaders Sports Smash Tetris Ultimate Billards Draws: Collapse: Three valve circus Open Open Open 1-i: Xenon Xukaniz Open Open Asteroids: Fortisimo Open Open Open Breakout: gavinrh Open Open Open Hexxagon: Blink182 Fortisimo Open Open Monster Hatch: Open Open Open Open Moon Lander: Open Open Open Open Pacman: Three valve circus Open Open Open Simon: bored2damax Three valve circus Open Open Snake: Xenon bored2damax Open Open Space Invaders: Fortisimo Open Open Open Sports Smash: Xenon Open Open Open Tetris: bored2damax itsstephenyo Three valve circus Open Ultimate Billards: Open Open Open Open

Well... Lets say your trying to do a business pitch to... I don't know... DCI. Which sounds better: A) We have 400 active members to date. or We have over 1400 registered members in 6 months
-
Its not necessarily registering for no reason... 1) They wanted to download media 2) They participated in predictions 3) They aren't in band but were interested by something 4) Sometimes band directors register to keep tabs on students There are tons of reasons for not posting. Most people just register and forget.
-
Yeah, but each of them has a unique email address. So its still 1400+ unique people.

Why doesn't anyone like the Phantom Regiment?
Dynasty replied to Trumpeter07's topic in Drum Corps Forum
To me, Phantom Regiment has the best hornline. Hands down. -
Winner of December 18th, 2005 supermanuel Congrats to all! We'll have a giftcard next week.

I've played on a Willson (Yes, it's spelled with 2 L's) for the last 2 years. It's a beautiful horn. Fantastic tone in all ranges -- low to high. I played on a Yamaha 642 before the Willson, and the Willson uses a lot more air. I guess the horn just has a "warmer" feel to it. Willson puts a lot of care into their horns... even the slides are engraved with the serial number. I would recommend a Willson or Besson... in that order. I wouldn't buy a horn until after the TMEA or TBA conventions. You can go there and try out all the euphoniums you want from all manufacturers until you find what you like best.
