  1. Man... no kidding. You have to realize that 1/3 of the population of the world is in two countries: China and India. China has birth restrictions for families, but it's so big and so rural it's almost impossible to enforce. India... who cares? Have as many children as you want. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think India just passed China in population.
  2. My god why are we talking about this.... Case Closed (read here): http://www.snopes.com/medical/potables/mountaindew.asp It's Snopes... its the truth.
  3. If you have a mall nearby and it is run by Simon, you can get a Simon Visa Giftcard. It works just like a debit card on Paypal.

  5. Welcome to the forums on TxBands.com! TxBands.com was launched on June 21, 2005 by a pair of students who loved band too much. The TxBands Staff Administrators Travis Imken - travis@txbands.com Alex Khan - alex@txbands.com Moderators, Writers, and Reviewers Daniel Sanchez Daniel Valdez Zach Ashcraft Michael Bui Basic Rules of Forums Usage: Forums are meant to encourage conversation, including disagreements over topics. A post should only express your opinion and never be at the expense of others. Texas is a big state and the there are many good bands. Bear in mind that everyone works as hard as you, so don't overhype your band too much. Any inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to: cussing, vulgarity, posting adult content, disrespecting other members, and abusing site resources. Conduct: We ask that all our members respect each other and try their best to understand and resolve conflicts. Flaming and name-calling are both childish and immature. Bear in mind that this board is populated by parents, teachers, students, and professionals, and anything you say can and will reflect on you as a person and your band program. Act responsibly; you know what is and is not appropriate. Spamming: Spamming is the easiest way to degrade a forum and make it hard and unpleasant to read. Because of this, spamming will not be taken lightly. All irrelevant spam posts will be deleted. If this continues to be a problem, personal action can be taken. These rules are all very simple and easy to follow, please do your best to act by them. Site admin and moderators have the final word in all conflicts and are free to act upon their best judgment. If a conflict or event that is not covered under these rules comes to light, the moderators and admin have final judgment. If you believe a moderator has treated you unfairly, report it to a super moderator or an admin. These rules are liable to change at any time. Please check back regularly and enjoy your stay at the TxBands forum. It is our goal at TxBands to provide a forum for many different schools from areas all over Texas to take part in discussion and interact. As a courtesy to others it would be appreciated if you provided your school information in your signature. Furthermore, when posting regarding events, shows, or other area or school specific occasions, it is suggested that you provide information regarding who is participating and where the event is. TxBands.com Administrators have the right to block IP addresses, E-mail addresses, and usernames if there is a repeat problem with a user. All of these features are part of the basic installation of the forum software (not from a 3rd party and installed seperatly). 6. Welcome to the TxBands forum! Introduction: TxBands.com was launced on June 21, 2005 as a free website to promote the band related arts in Texas. Both then and now, we are dedicated to maintaining our free status while providing unique services to all of our users. We are made, supported, and changed by users, so let us know if you have an idea! Happy posting and browsing! -Travis "Dynasty" and Alex "Clarinot" The TxBands.com Administration Team Contacting Site Staff: Any Moderator (green username) or Admin (Red username) can take care of bad content in posts and threads. Contact us via PM's or emails. Any site questions or requests can be directed to Travis at dynasty@txbands.com or Alex at clarinot@txbands.com.All emergency site problems should be sent to Alex's primary email address at clarinot1@gmail.com. Yellow Usernames designates VIP Members, people who have donated at least $5 in the past. All VIP members have access to the VIP section http://vip.txbands.com . Site Rules 3 VERY Simple Rules: Don't say anything that is meant to be mean to another. If it comes at the expense of another, don't post it. Don't overhype your band. A little is ok, and encouraged. But please use it in moderation. Don't cuss, be inappropiate, or post age sensitive material without a disclaimer. We have no age restrictions, so keep everything G rated. The language filter is fairly light, but that can be changed FAST! Conduct: We ask that all our members respect each other and try their best to understand and resolve conflicts. Flaming and name-calling are both childish and immature. They will not be tolerated on these forums. It is also required that inappropriate and foul language be avoided. A simple guideline is not to use any words that you would not find in a PG-13 movie. Posting foul, disgusting, or material obviously inappropriate will not be tolerated, again, abide by the PG-13 guideline. Obviously rival bands will eventually run into each other on this forum, flaming, insulting, or hostile behavior involving band rivalries will not be tolerated and will result in editing/suspension/banning. Act responsibly, you know what is and is not appropriate. Spamming: Spamming is the easiest way to degrade a forum and make it hard and unpleasant to read. 7. 17 -- Check the directory for other questions like this.
  8. Euph has conical tubing, meaning the pipes get bigger. Baritone is a cylinder pipe. So yeah, Euph is bigger. Marching euphs are always (at least to my knowledge) large shank, and baritones can be small or large.
  9. Ok, if people keep spamming this forum too these don't have to count either.
  10. You know, if you donate at least 5 dollars, your posts count in Off-Topic.
  11. Theres a link on there for mac users that saves it as a .m3u (playlist). I tried it on an OS X machine and it worked.
  12. Hey Guys, I put up a new poll concerning a TxBands.com e-newsletter on the main page. Alex does a lot of small stuff on the site, most of which is not worth a thread here in the announcements, and I feel he deserves some credit for his hard work. There are really a lot of small things on the site that no one really utilizes. Also, I feel that if I could give instructions on how to use half of the stuff we have, I could compile a FAQ section for new members. I plan to write the newsletter myself and try (key word there) to get it out every month. It will be lighthearted, (try to be) funny, and definitly sarcastic. No band reviews or serious stuff. I think I'll be able to program a page for people to enter their email addresses if they want the newsletter, and maybe even a spot for comments and story ideas. Anyways, give me some feedback and ideas! Thanks, Travis
  13. Well, depends on what your definition of boring is... Is boring when the band puts a lot of GE into their show, or is it when they play awesome music at insane levels? Or is it when they are uber-clean on the field and the visuals really come across? I think the only thing that makes a marching show boring or interesting is the initial design by the directors and arrangers/drill writers, and then the hard work of the kids to make magic happen.
  14. User title is a meetme reward, and for moderators.
  15. Wow... I have really never noticed those squares before.
  16. Too bad there isn't a forum on TxBands for people to tell us their site ideas so we can try to implement them.
  17. No, not unless you download software to convert them to ipod format and size.
  18. The singular form of 'corps' is 'corps', not corp. That's Corporation.
  19. Wow... and I know what song that is too. Sad.
  20. I dont know what happened to the group shot. Alexs computer must have erased it.
  21. I uploaded a few pictures from our booth here: http://www.iloveband.com/ I think Mike has some on his phone, so we might get those later.
  22. Are you making fun of me? I mean.. that's pretty obvious isn't it
  23. So, how is this game played? I read through the learn more section but it didn't really explain how winners, etc. are chosen. Are there skills or is it almost completely luck? We are working on programming our own Fantasy Marching Band. Ours is based off the results of competitions, and the numbers of inidvidual bands (determined by the BOA judges) are the numbers used by our players. Kinda like fantasy sports. EDIT: Note to TxBands members... Our FMB should start around August and will include the BOA regionals here. Keep tuned.
  24. Look if you guys can come up with... A shirt color: White, Black, Pink, Bright Green, Yellow (or anything in the store) A Slogan: And your name for the back: After you guys each give a slogan idea, we can have a poll for the favorites in another thread.
