  1. I think you'll be fine. Depending on the horns, baritones/euphoniums can get better sounds than trombones.
  2. No. I don't think a bunch of kids could even know where to begin.... I mean, I'm even bashing myself. There are geniuses out there, dedicated to this task, that can't even do this. Is your avatar a fusion reactor?
  3. I think you can get a bucket of 50 for $3.99. And they come already in sweet and sour sauce!
  4. Umm, "Pinned: Known Issues With TxBands" http://www.txbands.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=92 Thanks!
  5. I'm glad someone is smart. If you post Yes, please just tell us why. The only one so far should be Alex.
  6. I say no, Alex says yes. We need an answer. Voting ends on Sunday 5/14 at 11PM.
  7. But if they know someone is a bad leader, then they must know what the example of a good leader is... Then all they have to do is be the good leader that they know, without the official title. Let me just say, as a disclaimer, everyone sees leaders and people they dont like. But the result comes down to you. You can either get online and start bitching (please excuse my french) about it, or you can motivate yourself to make things happen. I think anyone who has agreed with the topic of this thread needs to look at themselves. Even if you are a leader, someday, not everyone will like you or the things that you do. Its a given. And what are you going to do about it?
  8. You know, half of leadership is what the followers put into it. It's easy to sit back and let things fail, and then bash your leader, or you can work with your leader to make things happen. It's really your choice.
  9. I think thats a 1 1 2, where the one's are superior and the two is the "outstanding"
  10. Do you think that you would be a better leader than him? I would say, before you start bashing, put your money where your mouth is. It's not as easy as it looks.
  11. I should also a great sense of family. Being comfortable and supported is critical too.
  12. Student Leadership. A band is only what the kids put into it, after recieving direction from their directors.
  13. I have two... AP Language (English 3, versus AP Lit which is English 4) AP Calculus
  14. Are you kidding? Honey Mustard makes my day. And either Dan or Mike made me try the sweet and sour sauce.
  15. Running, only during summer band. Other than that, stretching, pilates for abs, and some sort of calf/ankle exercize. This usually totals about 20 minutes of rehersal, at the beginning. Student Leadership, role models, and tradition. It's fairly simple. We have social gatherings, like pool parties and lock-ins. All the sections have signs with everyone's name. Some sections have parties and/or make shirts. Rehersal is directed by the directors, and implemented by the techs and higher-level leaders. Set is a director command. Water breaks every 10 minues, no excuses. No talking is allowed during instructions, period. Student leaders can address concerns and questions during down time, and instruct others during "field time", usually about 30 seconds to a minute, every once in a while. Our band survives on strong leadership or motivation to be a leader. It's truly unprecedented and I have never seen any group stronger or closer than our leaders (Please don't rebutt that statement, it's not an attack on anyone! ). They do a fantastic job.
  16. That'd be one big uniform.
  17. Yes, you can make a webpage for TxBands (me)! PM me with questions and I'll see what I can do to help. Is the domain "iloveband.com" ok? (it really exists and is our page)
  18. I'm sorry, but that dolly picture scares the beans out of me. And your sister is cute! I forgot to say that. Congrats!
  19. I used to have nightmares about monsters, but I think this put them all in second place...
