I'm the one that played the solo tuba, and our mics were NOT supposed to be that loud. sorry for any broken eardrums.

I don't like the end. try doing a suspended chord until the last note, then end on an accented major chord for 1 beat. john williams style.

at our school, all our brass players are pretty awesome. My best friends are trumpets.

dang I need to revive this thread. Richland has a mic'd tuba solo/soli on concert tubas this year, and I get to play it! Pretty cool.

the keys for the tuba pieces are TERRIBLE. but at least I had been playing one as a warm-up for lyrical parts before, LOL. GG, all-state.

Ensemble: Cheetham Scherzo Solo: Hindemith tuba sonata all movements. I still can't find an accompanist good enough to play the piano part. I swear, it's got to be the hardest piano piece I've ever seen in my life.

I made...7th at area, which is terrible, considering a guy I'm sitting above at region made 2nd. But I was the only sophomore tuba, so hey! Looking forward to next year. My band director thinks I'm crazy since I started in 8th grade anyway, meh. We had an amazing sax make it though, a lot of you know who I'm talking about.

I got 2nd in my region, darn you Andrew Jones*oh well, he's a senior, I'm a soph, so yay*!!! Oh well, at least I'll make it in area. Gonna go to state hopefully.

I love concert season. Playing actual hard parts on tuba is awesome. and our concerto contest is really fun.
