  1. The blue devils are playing a piece called redline tango I believe. idk what this means for their show.
  2. what did you say after getting off a harley after 8 hours of riding? I don't know, she was like that when I got here.
  3. Our area was more balanced this year for tubas, there weren't 8 insane players that were all right next to eachother and 4 people who couldn't play their instrument like last year. there were 16 people that had a definite few first people and everyone else was at least good at tuba. They could all play it and sound good.
  4. it works for me.
  5. lol. deepwood. like that band "morningwood" hahaha.
  6. we could have done without our 2 tenors this year. I really wouldnt have noticed.
  7. what band were you in? the wind ensemble had just gotten introduced to who I believe is one of the most inspiring band directors of all time: Mr.Alfred Watkins off lassiter high school, GA. man he was good! busting your gums flossing between your 2 front teeth and getting all bloddy and swollen and making it painful to play. now THAT sucks. I mean come on, the first time I floss in like 5 years and I get INJURED?! What the heck.
  8. tuba. and the competition is more stiff than you might realize.
  9. convertibles are usually really bad with intonation and springing spontaneous leaks.
  10. eh, high school doesn't make that many great memories. I'm waiting for college.
  11. My favorite color is...red...especially when applied to a tuba... http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...eoid=1279422853 watch the whole thing
  12. I made state. and the tuba music last year was really hard, almost unplayable, even by the best players. I think the difficulty is fine.
  13. we're playing the march from symphonic metamorphoses, some ballad we haven't picked yet, and shostakovitch No.5 finale.
  14. maybe harlingen south? I know I saw a band in all red with like 15 contra tubas.
  15. and pedal tone-y
  16. well, because I had area, I practiced like 2-3 hours a day... I know, I'm a big nerd. but I made all-state!
  17. that band we saw at san antonio was harlingen gavin. and we are getting those new tubas, go check your myspace bulletins.
  18. we speak normal english. at least I do...
  19. gavin you asked why there is no trumpet christmas. http://www.jibjab.com/jokebox/jokebox/jibj...76/jokeid/38662
  20. I'm gonna tell your other hand that.
  21. seems I'm quite a controversial person here! Oh well, I didn't mean anything negative. personally I like all our shows this year better than last year. and not for the fact that I had a solo either. I just liked the concept better. thoughts are much more interesting than stages of life. And it's more interesting to watch a scary show about the tribulations(at least that's what I thought) than a show about the rapture(again, my interpretation). although if you guys wanna take what I said as offensive, I'll argue with you all day long, I'm known for it .
  22. I know this is old, but if ya'll played melody shop right, then it DOES take a real man to play a euphonium.
  23. I'm the insane smart idiot for my section.
  24. richland 2005-take that, all you bell people. spring 1993-great band, great music, great director. bell 2006-In my BD's own words, "the only flaw LD Bell had at nationals this year was WHAT THE heck*censored the actual word* ARE THEY DOING?!"
