  1. maybe in your school district. our director said bell can die and go to heaven as many times as it takes to win GN.
  2. tuba(pretty well) violin(was great until I started tuba, now I SUCK) trumpet(learning, can't play worth a crap as of now.)
  3. could it be perhaps that bell has great show designers AND can play and march well? nah. no way.
  4. I have no idea what richland is playing, just that it's christmas concert music. last year we played a movement for rosa as one of our christmas pieces. I love the angry tuba ostinato part in the middle. and of course the beautiful french horn solo from we shall overcome at the end. that is a beautiful piece, but I'm afraid I'd get a bit tired of it if I had to do it all year.
  5. I think the entire Richland section of the stands(me included) was DEAD silent when they announced akins in finals last. Oh well, I have absolutely no regrets about my performance, you can't complain when you have an insanely cool solo on tuba that you get to wear freakin sunglasses for. Great job to all the bands that made it, and I'm personally casting my vote for Bell as 2006 GN champions. Great job guys. you know how to throw off THE vibe.
  6. I wouldn't be saying that if I were you mr. I can out-blast the whole band.
  7. he's not the richland soloist, he's just an immature sophomore. please don't confuse him with me.
  8. I smell trouble. or maybe that's just my section...
  9. how could you see? All I could see through that 3 inch gap were some tuba players marching by really fast with scared looks on their faces.
  10. do I really have to say? lol jk. Roger Bobo playing the hindemith sonata. Sam Pilafian on ANYTHING. Gene Pokorny...bydlo...I think it was...not sure.
  11. we had about 70 tubas last year. and my room had all the people that would make area except for one in it. gah. talk about intense concentration and mind games.
  12. b is harder for UIL bands. d is harder for BOA bands. maybe...hmmm...thety're both pretty tough.
  13. is that movement of the remaining with the straight trombone 8th notes and descending chromatic part dracula? Because it sounds a lot like the opening theme of one of my favorite games, castlevania aria of sorrow...
  14. isn't that like saying "I need to be better at band"? talk about a general statement. EVERYONE has to work on their drill transitions.
  15. you're welcome. I have to give major props to ya'll for having such a great year, and your first in 5A too!
  16. we have 3 or 4 bass clarinets, and 1 bari. although he's one of my best friends, and can really honk the crap out of that thing
  17. Jake, don't post so much, you're going a little overboard. and if all you people saw of richland was BOA arlington, then too bad. that was our worst performance. really. go see us now and you'll be pleasantly surprised, I think. we've pretty much rewritten our whole show from the ground up.
  18. It's alright, gavin's just a little...gavin. arguing about another band's reaction. WAY TO GO GAVIN. real mature buddy, real mature.
  19. My dad taped them last night, I love how clean their version of barnum and bailey's favorite is. and of course the smoke ring cannon. best effect ever. so many tubas. and all of them are nicer than ours. I'll see if I can get a video of them up on youtube sometime.
  20. I knew that one from haltom. All state 2 years in a row I believe.
  21. Very cool. great job on making state last night. I love how excited ya'll got when you got called out for state. I'm from richland, so I'll see you in a week.
