  1. http://upload.txbands.com/CarnivalofVenus.wma There ya go my friends.
  2. Here's a picture of me in my younger, more wiley days.
  3. Hmmmmm just a sec, I might just have the fix you're lookin for, lol.
  4. I believe it was actually originally a cornet solo, and the Carnival itself isn't really the crazy part, its the variations. But yeah, its pretty sweet. Our top trumpet from last year could play a lot of it on the french horn, lol. He was a friggin hos. Anyways, if your really wanna here some crazy stuff, look up the Carnival of Venus, Vizzuti's own take on this style of piece. He wrote and performed it. It's a lot like Venice, except a heck of a lot cooler in my opinion. But yeah, have a listen and see for yourself.
  5. Loquor Engilam et Latinam.
  6. This new updated look is.... sexy kinda.... lol
  7. Lmao, ahhhhh Forum moderator apps. Reminds me of some of the other forums I used to lurk around. There was always so much drama- it's not my style to get involved with such things, but I figure I might rate some of the applicants either way.
  8. Our old head director used to get really into conducting... I mean REALLY in to it.. anyways, one time during a concert he was up conducting the first band and he was getting to a really climatic point. Well you see, the bnands perform up on stage and the director is up on a little raised podium in front of them. Now, in front of that is the pit which is ~6-7 ft deep. So, yeah.... I think you see where this is going- he definitely was going nuts with it and he fell backwards in to the pit ion the middle of the concert, lmfao. Oh, and mute stuff... we've done the stacking thing, but me and another trumpet player started a game where you set the mute down on the ground/riser and hold a pencil by the tip in your hand. You then takes turns trying to drop the pencil down the skinny opening of the mute from at least above lap-level. Rather challenging, but fun nonetheless. And did I mention noisy too? We kept score on his music folder.
  9. Lmao, well the guy you are talking to is Mexican, so yeahh.... not sure h ow that works in. Oh, and the freshmen come out of our wormholes, but they are too young sometimes to start with, and they travel so quickly that they come out as dying fetuses as they have traveled back in time.
  10. Lmfao, they'll give you a pretend coffe mug or the such in return.
  11. Hmmm, does a show need a slow movement... I guess we will find out soon enough, lol.
  12. Edirol Orchestral for band stuff... Hypersonic for various other synths (a number of really good drum kits there).... I've heard Zeta is a good all around synth... oh, and this comes with FL, but I would read up on sytrus and play around with it alot- you can get some really cool sounds out of that thing. OPENER
  13. Ummmmm the internet? And what kind of cool stuff are you refering to? You may need to research VST instruments. For Orchestral, which is qwat I use for my show renderings can be gotten from various bit torrents and other such shady methods.
  14. Ohhhhhhh burn. Lmao, yeah, I dunno. I don't think I can really form an opinion on this specific show until I see it, but hey, I am open to new stuff. Although, in a similar vein, I do sometimes think that such theatrics in the BOA circuit are often excessively used and often at such extents they take away from the show. Props and gimmicks are no replacement for good old fashioned 0wnage, musically and visually. It's as the second writer said, "The show honestly would be great on Broadway"- and I hate nearly all broadway shows (that aren't funny ones and lets face it, whjo wants to work all summer and fall to have a marching show that is literally a joke?). Lmao, but yeah, a little bit as an embellishment can be good.... like I said, I'll just have to see.
  15. Yeah, that was really ****.
  16. Lol, cool. There's a big group of Martin people all going and sitting together. It's sort of a sponsered event this year (we all bought tickets through one of our directors all at the same time), so it should be pretty awesome. But hey, if yall got a meeting thing going, I'll come get free stuff.
  17. Yeah, if they didn't lose any, then where would all the excitement be?
  18. Lol, there's a holy grail of anti-watermarking/general editing.... it is called 'clone tool' we had this picture these people wanted to use in our concert program and it was a picture of us on the field. However, there was somebody's big fat hand holding up a camera over part of the pit and part of the 40 yard line, so I edited it out with the clone tool and we used it. It was friggin sweet.
  19. Lol, I like em.... but can you say... GO GO POWAH RANGAH'S!
  20. Game 2? One word: Domination. I think it will continue too, despite the court change.
  21. Pish, bump that, Mavs in 6.
  22. Heck yeah, go Martin. And congratulations to all others as well, of course! Man would I like to get a hold of the recording for Prague. That song is pretty friiggin sweet.
  23. Lmao, I think I'm having deja vu; and you are correct, I am amazing at pretty much everything. Just ask your mother. Lmao! I'm just messing with ya. But really, you have no idea how bad it was. I saw a video of the UTA marching contest from either 91 or 92.... apparently, there used to be quite a few more bands that attended... but anyways, the drill we had was ungodly bad. I mean really. Really. really. Bad.
  24. Our old director wrote our drill for a few years back in the early 90's. I've only seen one of them. It was awful.
