Timber Creek: Aurora- Incredible performance from TC! That soprano sax soloist is absolutely cracked! Guard had a couple "big" drops at the beginning but was great the rest of the way through! Very big and impactful opening statement, really great sounds all around! Definitely see why they did so well at HEB last weekend! Really excited to see them live next weekend at Prosper, great job Timber Creek!

I really like Timber Creek this year. The show feels more ambitious than anything they’ve done, plus, the guard is very quickly rising up the ranks and will be a big threat at WGI this year. I just hope they can get the show finished and clean enough for area in two weeks.

TC: Mysterious and ethereal show from timber creek, lots of demand and difficulty visually, and I really liked their backfield arc impact in the ballad, filling up the whole field! The woodwinds were fantastic, wasn’t in a spot to get much of the heavier brass moments, but I got quite the earful from the WW’s. Naturally very colorful like an Aurora as well. Definitely a contender for top half, we’ll see if they get there!

L.D. Bell: It All Begins With A Dot- Hello LD BELL! What a wonderful music performance from them! Really loved the drill in the opener leading up to the big "dot"! Guard was very impressive, and that ballad was very beautiful! Probably my favorite show of theirs of recently, could see them maybe taking the title at Prosper next weekend if they clean up a little more, but Wakeland is looking like one heck of a beast, but regardless a great run from L.D. Bell!

Love the confidence in Bell’s sound this year! Also a subtle but intriguing thing I noticed this year and last year is how well the woodwinds speak during the ballad, specifically during the build up to the arrival.

Probably my favorite LD Bell show in recent years. So beautiful!

I actually loved Lone Star’s show, I have them a sneaky finalist band. I am very pleased with all of the performances so far! Genuinely think this competition is diverse and will see a sleuth of finalist potential! :))

Burleson Centennial: Breakaway- Amazing performance from BC! I can see why some people were predicting them to make finals, and it's definitely a possibility! as Always their drumline was cracked, and the guard was on fire! Much bigger ensemble sound than last year, very much back at the sound they had in 2019, and could definitely make a run at state finals, really great show! soloist were so good, just a great music book and they played and marched so well. Great job BC!

No mics were completely fine, was specifically talking about the trumpet screamer, but no all the soloist sounded great!

Grapevine: Headspace- Solid performance from Grapevine! Good sounds all around and drill was pretty clean. Soloist were very good, liked the Trombone after the ballad, and guard was great. Biggest "issue" for me was that there wasn't much technical/ demanding drill/music, which may hurt them a little. Should win AA here, and I'm thinking probably second next weekend at Prosper behind Lovejoy. Great job Grapevine!

Lebanon Trail did NOT want to be overlooked, what a fantastic start they have made for themselves, if they don’t advance here, 5A still has a lot deal with later at UIL state. Fantastic performance from them!

Side note, shout out all the band parents and volunteers out there. I enjoy listening to the "noise" when bands take the field and the army of helpers to get everything set up for these amazing performers to have a great show! Bravo to all!

Yeah that soprano sax made 1st chair all state. I actually had a friend who was with him in his phase 1 region audition room

I liked the attention detail with the theme. I liked the street lamps and the authentic Sherlock holme’s outfit for the lead guard member. 
 

Definitely one of the more solid performing groups I’ve heard in the DFW area. They’re So good at playing boldly with clean technique!
