Hays / Foster / Richland / Roma I can’t decide who 12th will be, so I’m listing groups I will keep an eye on. However, I am also keeping an eye on McCallum since I know they advanced 2021. I know they haven’t been doing so good with BOA; however, the way UIL is judged compared to BOA is very different, so I have high hopes for McCallum. Quote

I am worried about the rest of the groups. I do have Wakeland and Lonestar in the advancing to state predictions, but I’ll make sure to watch the other groups. I know Argyle is doing wonderful, so maybe they’ll advance. Who knows, also McKinney North is someone I’m excited about since we see them for a football game (unless something happens). Quote

I think Lebanon Trail should make it to state, and probably Argyle. North’s show is more of an entertainment product than a marching band show imo, and I could see them having great success this weekend at boa prosper, and could see them making finals there, but it’s a very hard show to judge with UIL scoring, especially marching, but we’ll see how they do. It’s a great show and I’m very excited to see them tomorrow Quote

Do give input on how they do in the BOA Prosper form! texastrumpetdad Posted October 15, 2023 Posted October 15, 2023 After this weekend’s performances and results, my state finals predictions look like this: Rouse Wakeland Cedar Park Burleson Centennial Leander Forney Hendrickson Aledo Lonestar Roma Friendswood Richland krustyjoe and Tubalord11 2 Quote
Tubalord11 Posted October 15, 2023 Posted October 15, 2023 I’m very curious to see how Hendrickson is gonna do here seeing how their season has gone so far, they might not place as well as some may expect, even here. I’d imagine they’ll make finals but idk, it’s just been such a weird season for them Karma_Savior 1 Quote

I love BC, but putting them over Leander is an overstatement. BDC 1 Quote

texastrumpetdad Posted October 15, 2023 Posted October 15, 2023 The 8 point difference yesterday between Rouse/Cedar Park and Leander leaves a LOT of room for other bands like Burleson Centennial/Forney/Aledo/Hendrickson/Lonestar to move into that 4th spot. Don’t forget Burleson Centennial was 5th in state in 2019 behind 4th place Rouse with about 50 less band members. This year’s band is leaps ahead of 2019. BandKid_2 1 Quote
Tubalord11 Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Okay so after this weekend, here's what I'm thinking. Most of these bands are taking the 21st off, so it's gonna be interesting to see if it helps or hurts certain bands, as normally area is the weekend following region, may change if certain bands to compete this weekend: 1st. Rouse ( I really, really believe) 2nd. Cedar Park 3rd. Wakeland 4th. Leander 5th. Forney 6th. Burleson Centennial 7th. Hendrickson 8th. Aledo 9th. Friendswood 10th. Lonestar 11th. Roma 12th. Lebanon Trail Idk some are pretty solid some more of guessing, will probably change after area but yeah here's where I'm at right now Dave609 and BaritoneBallah 2 Quote

My kids have competed against them for the past 6 years and they looked really strong last week already. I was amazed at how cleaned they looked so early in the season. Cedar park looks amazing visually, but i’m a huge fan of rouse and their hornline, but if anyone can give cedar park a run for their money I definitely think it could be wakeland. They look so good this year and seeing them live really showed it to me Quote
