ViewFromTheBox Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Hello McKinney Boyd. Really clean musically and visual. Love the color change going into the closer. Those last few final spots are going to be oh so tight tonight. littlejaw 1 Quote
josephbandfan Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Both Haltom and KC have fun shows! Hope to see both tonight Quote
ViewFromTheBox Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Wow Keller! First time seeing them this year and lived up to the hype. Absolutely phenomenal musically and great drill throughout. Can’t wait to see it again under the lights tonight! littlejaw 1 Quote
ViewFromTheBox Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Think I found my favorite ballad so far today with Trinity. Love the saxophone quartet there. Wonderfully done musically. Quadmom68 and littlejaw 2 Quote
Quadmom68 Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Haltom and Keller and Keller Central sounded amazing. Summit was my favorite, of course, but I might be a little bit biased. littlejaw 1 Quote
ViewFromTheBox Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 There is so much to like with McKinney’s show. So well designed. Hope to see it again tonight to see those lights pop in the closer. littlejaw 1 Quote
ViewFromTheBox Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Very clean run for J.J. Pearce today both musically and visually. Great job getting those leaves too. littlejaw 1 Quote
ViewFromTheBox Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 They didn’t update the only schedule, but Lewisville will be performing at 1 and Irving Nimitz at 1:30. Also unrelated, apparently there’s an air show in the area. Various WWII era planes providing intermission entertainment. littlejaw 1 Quote
ViewFromTheBox Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 We’ve warmed up to 62 here, but Lewisville tried to cool us off with “A cooler shade of winter”. Well done and really love the music arranging in it. Quote

ViewFromTheBox Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Well done Nimitz! Loved Nessun Dorma as the closer! Quote
ViewFromTheBox Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Third time seeing Lake Highlands this year and every time I love the backfield opening hit from the brass. There’s really a lot to like about this program visually and musically. Quote
ViewFromTheBox Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Wow. Just wow, Prosper. Musically the best performance of the day, at least to my unprofessional ears. Definitely will be in medal contention tonight. Quote
ViewFromTheBox Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Lake Ridge’s show has really come a long ways this season. There’s so much to like about this. Love Rocky Point in the opener. Quote
ViewFromTheBox Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Well hello there Marcus. They put down the cleanest performance of the day both musically and visually. Great stuff. Quote
RealSkipBayless Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Summit is underrated. They placed in finals at BOA West Texas and I predict they will do the same here. Quote
ViewFromTheBox Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 It’s not easy going on after Marcus, but Wylie really threw it down. I love their show this year. The ballad with Sound of Silence is just gorgeous. LeanderMomma 1 Quote

I’m just nervous about that 10:15 am start time. Feels like so long ago. Quote
box5sop Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 We'll have to see. I believe the last spot of finals is between Summit, Lake Ridge, McKinney Boyd, Trinity, and Pearce. This contest is just so stacked it depends on judges preference and how each performance goes. I'm sure all bands will do very well, but this is a tight competition and you need to be stellar to make finals. Quote

LostChoirGuy Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 This competition is as competitive as BOA DFW in my opinion. Quote
ViewFromTheBox Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Rockwall would like to say hello. Very clean visual performance from them. Add them to the logjam around the finals cutoff. Quote
ViewFromTheBox Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 This just in: 718 is a lot people on a football field. Sounded the best I’ve heard Allen in a couple of years. Quadmom68 1 Quote

Allen seems to be one of those bands that are really trying to get into more competitive marching and ooo boy, if they can manage to play louder individually then there's no beating their volume. Seriously though. Last year we had a football game against them at the same time as Region Band auditions and they announced that unfortunately they'll ONLY be performing with 500 of their marchers on the field. They had 300 of their members trying out for region. That's the size of our entire band. That is INSANE. Quote
