TWHSParent Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 I know. We had a couple items at the school my wife had to deal with which delayed us. I really wanted to get here in time... Quote

6ATrumpets Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 It’s looking like it’s going to be a close fight for that 4th state spot Quote

The middle of finals is where it will be (finals start with Westfield however and end with Oak Ridge) in the middle however it is College Park, The Woodlands, Tomball Memorial (better make a presence otherwise this positioning will knock em out. WoodlandsMom4ever Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 Does anyone have the finals schedule? We know when we perform but would love to see what other bands made finals and when they perform. Quote
Danpod Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 Still waiting on an official schedule for Finals. Until then, more beer. Quote

Possibly no Spring or Westfield at State this year. The times have changed! Kind of surprised to see North Shore in 4th. Their show is very UIL-friendly. Also, given their past success, I thought they were probably a shoo-in for the top 2. They might still end up there. We'll see. Given how weird Area results can sometimes be, the goal should simply be to make it out alive. The Woodlands is probably breathing a sigh of relief after 2016's results. But the result is well-deserved. It's probably their best-performed show since 2013. Back on Oct. 6th, I thought they had the cleanest show in the state of Texas (visually). CISD domination at the top. I think a lot of us were pretty stunned by Oak Ridge's performance at Conroe finals. I mean, we knew they were good, but they completely exceeded our expectations. Both Oak Ridge and College Park obviously have the musical chops to compete with the big dogs; their Honor Band successes reflect that. I just think their designers need to continue to step outside of their comfort zones, and their directors need to continue to hit the visual hard. tstrom01, cubuff8 and TWHSParent 3 Quote

principalagent Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 I heard that the same four advanced, but College Park and North Shore swapped places. Quote
8to5brass Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 Good wrap to the first year of 6A at Tomball Memorial. TMHS moved up from 7th to 6th in finals, give this program a couple years and we may see them vying for state spots, everyone performed well tonight. I’m proud of all the band kids, parents, sponsors, etc. their hard work is what got them to these finals tonight. Way to work hard for each and every band! TWHSParent 1 Quote
TWHSParent Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 1 The Woodlands 2 Oak Ridge 3 North Shore 4 College Park 5 Spring 6 Tomball Memorial 7 Kingwood 8 Westfield 9 Klein Collins 10 Klein Oak I think I remember this correctly. Way to go Woodlands! Quote
Popular Post Rubisco Posted October 28, 2018 Popular Post Posted October 28, 2018 Fairly good, consistent scoring for a UIL contest. TWHS absolutely dominated, which shouldn't be surprising, but kind of is, considering the group's past struggles at UIL Area. 9 out of 10 first-place scores. Oak Ridge was the pretty clear favorite for 2nd place in both rounds, although North Shore narrowed the gap in finals. Congrats to all! TWHSParent, gmtb617 and justabandkid94 3 Quote
