I don't think their parking lot for fans is big enough for what I think is coming.

I checked it on Google. I think parking will be worse than lindale. I’m assuming the big lot will be for bands. That only leaves about 200 spots on the other side and there’s not much within walking distance. The school up the road will be in session. Get there early and don’t leave!

Still have lots of families that attend religious services on Sundays so that would be a non-starter.

There previously has been Sundays listed as the inclement weather date. I said Sunday would have been better because of convenience & function. It would have helped many schools avoid transportation issues, allowed seniors who were scheduled to take their SAT on Tuesday morning to still do so, and given the schools more time to make lodging arrangements for State. Some parent volunteers aren't able to be available on a weekday on short notice either. There are band trips that include them gone on Sunday and as far as I know, it isn't a problem when missing for a required school activity. Parking at Pine Tree is going to be a mess with both two schools right there. They will need roads kept clear for parents & buses picking up kids too.

Parking is definitely not a great situation. I found a pic on google from a previous competition, and the spectator parking was the big lot behind the home side stands. All the buses & their trucks are supposed to fit in the smaller lot behind the visitors side. I'm glad they were willing to step in, just not sure how well the parking situation is going to go...

There will probably a lot less people. I think that this is the best situation anyone could hope for given the circumstances. The top groups would have probably been fine with going prelims only. Same with the bands that are less competitive. But the bands who are expecting to make finals and be on that state advancement bubble of 4-6 need to be thanking God for this opportunity. Especially given how tight that race is looking. I know as a former rural band director, Sunday contests are an absolute non starter for most of these bands.

Couldn't agree more. I am from Farmersville band, and I am so happy we get prelims and finals considering were probably going to be duking it our for those last 2 spots. If it were prelims only, I'm not sure how we'd fair considering our band doesn't have the best prelims reputation. We'll make the most of tomorrow though and bring the competition as hard as we know how to.

I have guesses of who I believe to make it (Celina, SS, NL, Farmersville, BC, and Willspoint) but ve vill see tomorrov vho vill truly rein.
