I was unaware thanks for letting me know. I guess that 7th spot id up for grabs then but Farmersville might take it since they did tied with Kaufman 2023 and didn't get to far off in 2022. Can't wait to see Paris, Lumbertown, and Farmersville compete for their spot at 7th and 6th place spots.

Based on last year, I think the 7th place spot belongs to Kaufman or Farmersville. They were both above Paris and tied eachother at the area finals for Area B. While Paris always performs great shows, Kaufman has consistently been a highranking and competitive school. I don't see a school such as them not placing in the 7th spot or above for this area. I'm not so sure about lumbertown since I've never seen them in person or recording but I think they will definitely have a very tight sliver to try to slide into. Needless to say, This year will be the most competitive I've ever seen; probably more than back in the Argyle and Melissa years for Area B.

Last year they had a phenomenal show but crumbled due to tuning issues in the bad weather. This year if they can overcome that issue they could very well place in the top 5 spots and achieve the state status. I haven't seen their show this year but if it is anything like last year's they very well could make it.

Do you know if it is only online, or can you buy tickets at the gate?

Where would some one buy tickets to attend the area contest this Saturday? I have family that wants to go but we aren't sure if you need to buy online or on site.

Does someone buy tickets on line or can you buy them on site? I have friends that would like to watch the bands perform but I'm not sure how to get admission. P.S. if this isn't the right topic I apologize I wasn't able to find another one.

Farmersville placed 5th prelims and won both categories as well. The judging was consistent throughout the contest although it does seem weird that a band as well known as mineola placed so low.

I just came across the Denton contest. Panther creek beat Anna however Anna was still named 4A best in class. Does this mean panthercreek is a 5A or what am I missing?

My predictions 1. Anna - making consistent progress and seem to be doing really well at all their comps. 2. Celina - neck and neck to Anna but lately have seemed to peak in terms of skill they are the only band in my opinion that could take the spot from Anna 3. Panther creek - beat Anna and other good marching bands however they could go either way seeming as they are new I can't really set them top 2 however I can see them possibly placing in those top 2 spots 4. Canton - loud band but not as refined as Anna and celina however their spot in top 5 is set stone for the most part 5. Kaufman - haven't been outstanding and seem to be progressing at a slower pace but I would say they have their spot set in the top 5 6. Farmersville - haven't made much progress and haven't been able to out perform other 4a band who are in the top 5 running 7. Community - consistently alongside farmersville high in terms of placing in their competitions 8. Sunnyvale - (I haven't seen their show) from what I've heard are around the same as farmersville and community so they could be either 6th or 7th interchangeably. 9. Wills point 10. Van alstynne

Agreed, Canton was my second choice for 4a. I understand how judges view bands differently than us spectators.(they prefer tone and balance while most spectators prefer volume and visuals). They were originally 2nd but apparently the judging was messed up and they got bumped down North Lamar took their spot in top 3

Surprising prelims result! Many band surprised me in term of placement. Sulphur springs was favored second behind Lonestar from what I heard at the competition. Not making top three in their division much less not qualifying for finals was boggling to say the least. Overall a great competition to attend and Great band all around. Can't wait to see how they play out in the future and see them improve. Canton was also a surprisingly placement btw.

Lone start was great and Lakeview definitely brought the competition. Sulphur springs was also pretty decent. Other bands were definitely good but non other stood out to me. Can't wait for results.

Personally I thought Krum was going to take 1st place at area b for 4a. My band went against them at the Aubrey invitational and their show was great. Definitely surprised they got 9th in finals.

How do you feel about the results? Where there any bands that surpassed you expectations or any that didn't meet? For me I thought farmersville was gonna lower. Krum also placed lower that I expected I really thought they had a chance to make state this year.
