To say that the human voice (speaking) is melodic and rhythmic in the same sense as music isn't really accurate I don't think...unless it happened to be like recessative from an opera. What about a historical speech to go along with a WWII themed show?

I don't think you can put electronics or vocals in their own category since not every corps chooses to use them. I'd put them in the pit category I suppose if I had to

I believe its called the Disney all american marching band, but don't quote me on that. It would take a lot of hard work to make it though. I recall looking at lasts years roster and seeing people in it form Eastman, UNT, USC, UT, and some other pretty big name music programs

Go do the Disney marching band over summer. Still an awesome experience, same time frame as drum corps, same style performance more or less, get to do clinics with awesome musicians, live at Disney world (or land? the one in california) get paid $400 a week.

Well doesn't the sound from a flute come out of the headjoint part of it? How would you get it to come out of the bell while still retaining the same timbre?

Don't know that from a physics stand point that a bell front flute would even be possible...

Actually if you average those numbers together you get an average of 10.4. The 21 was the most inconsistent, with the 1 being 2nd most. So really neither of you are right, I think the point he was trying to make that the judging was inconsistent..
