Agree with your analysis! Just my own sneaky bias opinion, I feel like Rockwall is building momentum and could work their way int the top 8. We shall see

Prelims 8-14 is going to be tight

I definitely think Heath can surprise people this year but my gut says they will fly under the radar and strike at Area making finals. They chose not to go anywhere yesterday with Homecoming. McKinney they have like the 2nd march of the morning, don’t like that for them. Prosper BOA will be their 2nd boa and stacked competition, I don’t expect finals. Very conceivable they walk into Area having only run their show 3 times in competition.

Most of bands I saw this week only put on about 3/4 of shows so really hard to project/predict without using reputation as a key factor. Looking at the 12 posted above, could really see it winding up 12 different ways. Going to be a great day in McKinney

True….I definitely think all bands have a different vibe at night and fan energy is different when not sweltering. Good luck rest of the way to all the bands!

McKinney Marching Invitational Week Starts Now!!! Reedy coming off a nice win! Rockwall took care of business at Mesquite! Schools like Wylie, RockHill, JJ, LT This contest is going to be one to watch!!! Those that locked in your predictions early may kick yourselves if you didn’t take Reedy higher.

It’s definitely a hard balance of considerations…..wanting to “compete”, wanting feedback…not wanting to travel far early in season. Contest we were at, could tell majority of shows are only about 75 percent. Do you want trophies or experience.

Not 💯 sure your question…but if question is how do they flip in finals, one passing over two others and vice versa… Well, finals is a new run and judges often rotate what they are judging. If not done this way, why have finals?

Rockwall OWB… Retrosonic!!! Nice crowd on hand!!! Love the colorguard vibe. The retro color but in school colors are great! Here we go! Great attention to detail. Nice sounds and marching. More precision than years past. Transitions between parts. Wow. somebody lost a shoe and kept going! Great job! Drum Major solo, fantastic This whole show is a vibe!!!

Macarthur High School Band: From the Ashes Don’t know much about them so looking forward to seeing what they have! Some nice but soft sounds. Loved that soloist marched back into place via running. Way to fill the spaces for midsize band. I wanted more definition during “Ashes”. Pretty song though, impressed marching band took it on.
