2006 MARCHING SHOWS
mbui replied to Aegis Fang's topic in Everything Music: Marching, Concert, Auditions and more
Just wanted to say that I was a fan of Sharyland's show this past year. I saw you guys in Prelims at the BOA San Antonio Super Regional. The music is special to me since Santa Clara Vanguard 2000 is my favorite drum corps show of all-time. -
Definitely going to be there from start to finish. 5 days left!

QUOTE (bluebellbrass07 @ Jul 16 2006, 03:57 PM) Im not sure about this year actually. 05 was Don Hill for music and Myron Rosander for drill. I know the music is still Hill but im not sure about drill. Im also pretty sure we are no longer using Jim Casella *Our guard is done by Wes Cartwright I thought Aaron Guidry was going to arrange for 2006?

You have a Mac right? If so, have you tried another browser like Internet Explorer? From what I read, you're using Firefox v.5.0. Try IE and see if that works.

What issues do you have? Maybe I can help you out.

I know it's not done yet but I already switched to the other skin. I LOVE IT!!! The look is sleak. Now, it looks like all the other Invison Boards that I visit. For those that are completely lost..... 1. Click on the "My Controls" at the top menu bar 2. Click on "Skin & Languages" under the Options section on the left column. 3. Change the Board Skin to Invision Power Board. There you go.....

As long as the gap is over a point...I'm cool with it! The closest that the Blue Knights have gotten to the Vanguard as of late is .65 from this past Sunday.

People are expecting way too much from SCV right now. Remember, this is their transition year with the new staff. I don't know if any of you have seen them this year but is SCV better than last year? Definitely. This year's show is on a whole other level compared to 2005's. Calling them neck and neck with Boston troubling? Kind of harsh, in my opinion. It's just the fact that the bottom half (6-12) of DCI is getting better. Keep in mind that SCV, Boston Crusaders and the Blue Knights were in a dogfight all last year. Boston was beating SCV all last year up until Finals night when SCV edged them out by just a few tenths to claim 8th place. Like I said before... this is a transition year with the new staff. Don't expect a top five finish from SCV in 2006. Man, if they do....I'll buy everyone on here a drink. Sodas for all those under 21. It's going to take a year or two for everything to click. I can't stress that enough. Expect the Vanguard to be in the thick of things in the near future. As for this year, top 6 is a possibility....if they can just clean the show up. It has potential oozing all over it. At the moment, Carolina Crown, SCV, Boston & Blue Knights are all seperated by a point or so. That's how heated the competition is. Anyways, I'm looking forward to DCI San Antonio next weekend. It's going to be an incredible one...I'll be cheering my Vanguard on for sure! I know they have a huge fanbase here in Texas so show your support for the corps at the dome! Remember folks, the Vanguard yell is in the closer.

To save someone a TON of work....there's already a website that has that set-up. http://www.corpsreps.com (Click on the Score Archive at the top.) For example.... Here is the Phantom Regiment's. http://www.corpsreps.com/scores.cfm?view=c...or&yearqry=2006 WONDERFUL site with repertoires and scores dating back to who knows when.

QUOTE (MartinHorn @ Jul 8 2006, 11:02 PM) Why didn't Phantom and SCV participate? The Phantom Regiment is celebrating their 50th Anniversary with a huge bash at their homebase in Rockford, Illinois this weekend. and.... The Santa Clara Vanguard is still out West competing. They are in Seattle, Washington tonight along with the Blue Knights and Seattle Cascades. SCV, Seattle and BK will make their way East late next week.

Yep, I just noticed that as well. I noticed where the change occured. It was to the Percussion 2 score. Originally... Tech 2 - 9.40 Mus 2 - 8.70 TOTAL = 18.10 It now reads... Tech 2 - 9.10 Mus 2 - 8.70 TOTAL 17.80 The change to the Percussion 2 score bumped the Percussion average down to a 17.75 (tie with The Cadets) and the Music score to a 25.675.

QUOTE (Dynasty @ Jul 8 2006, 08:22 PM) Mike, I only chose events with at least 1 Div I corps. I'm not sure, but Div II and III corps are scored on the same basis as a Div I for those events? I heard that somewhere. Anyways, for your question, put all Div 1 corps first, then Div II then Div III, in order. No, Division II & III corps are scored on different judging sheets than the Division I corps. But thanks for clarifying on the list set-up.
-
Are we also counting the Division II & III corps? If so, how do we set that up in our predictions list?

Two weeks ago, Daniel Valdez and I flew out to California for the DCI Southern California competition in Walnut, CA....a suburb of Los Angeles. As promised, a recap of the entire trip along with the show review can be found in my blog at: http://michaelbui.blogspot.com Enjoy!
