Flower Mound is always my favoriteeee. The ballad is absolute perfection (other than some balance issues lol). Glad they didn’t just do the polka dots.

Missed most of Round Rock, oops. What I was able to see was really great but the ending felt a bit anticlimactic? Cedar Ridge just understands GE and buy-in like no other. Reagan kindof exceded my expectations after their early season results. That was pretty fantastic, love how well the shows flows despite having so many different moments.

Bowie always has top notch design, but this show is probably my favorite of their’s post-2020.

Leader was realllly great. Much much much prefer this show to last year. Soloists kinda stole the show for me.

Cedar Park was pretty fantastic. Much better of a design than last year. Really don’t love the trend of putting jv/wind players on swing flag (especially when the guard is plenty big enough!), 9 times out of 10 it just makes those moments lack clarity visually.

They were 5th in prelims and finals.

Marcus and Keller! Keller’s show is called “Distant Voices”. Love the visual scale at the beginning with those circles opening and closing over the whole field. Was that a trumpet screamer at the end? Nice. Wish we got to see more! Marcus’ show is called “In a New Light” I think. That second movement is absolutely cooking 🔥🔥🔥 How are they so clean?? Similar vibe to last year, which obviously worked well for them.

Arcadia’s clarity, especially in the staging, is completely unmatched. With a stronger weapon book, they would easily contend for the gold. AND THAT FLAG FEATURE. So good.

TWHS’ show is truly epic. Just unrelenting with the tosses, but in the most elegant way possible. Probably one of my favorite SW shows ever, partially because of the audacity to even attempt it.

Tarpon was fantastic. It feels very much like a sequel of last year, and sequels are rarely better than the original. I just think there’s too much extraneous stuff. Last year was the perfect amount of extra.

What a heavy concept to give to high schoolers! The level of synchronization that Carmel achieves on those unison tosses is mind blowing considering the soundtrack doesn’t really have very defined rhythmic cues.
