Good thing I hadn't submitted my prediction list yet. I had JJ Pearce pretty high on the list.

Both Keller and Southlake Carroll were 5-0 up until their match today where Carroll won. Not a big surprise but you could tell the Keller kids were a little bummed that their winning streak had ended. Their game was originally last night but was rescheduled to earlier today due to weather. Really wanted to watch both bands at halftime! I've never been a big fan of watching football and would much rather watch other sports, but it is still fun to keep up with schools here and there.

The weather forecast is looking a lot better! Knock on wood ?

I'm really excited to see Flower Mound's final product! I'll wait until DFW before I say anything too concrete but it looks like it has a lot of potential. Their guard always looks good and I especially love the tuba feature. Personally, one of my favorite shows that I've seen this season. Marcus sounds beautiful which is expected and I like the tone of their show. I'm with others where I thought their drill could be more exciting. I sort of felt the same way about their 2019 production but even then, they march well and placed 6th at SA. Their visuals are always very effective as well and their guard is world class.

I actually just found a livestream earlier today of their game against Flower Mound and it includes their halftime. I don't think the announcer ever said the name of Flower Mound's show though

Or Keller ?. But if anyone did steal the title, it would be Marcus. I think they are the only other band to get 2nd at DFW in a long time as well. But I'd need to double check the past results

It does seem like the DFW bands tend to be more secretive about their shows early season lol. And if BOA Conroe and Austin have proven anything, it's that there will likely be some surprises. 2012 was the last time a band other than Flower Mound and Hebron won this regional and that was by Marcus. That probably won't change this year either but it sure would be exciting if it did.

I do think Marcus will have the edge since they had a competitive season in 2020 and they're going to grand nats. Their 2017 show is one of my favorite of theirs and they went on to get 4th at GN that year. But I am still rooting for Keller to win it! They will have to do a lot of cleaning from when I last saw them but I definitely think they have a good chance. Or hopefully they can steal a caption.

I personally have Forney in my finals prediction as they're always solid every year. I hope this contest doesn't get rained out. Haven't we suffered enough!

I saw a bit of Leander's props and the guard uniforms on their IG page and it all looks so cute! I can't wait to see more of the show.

I think the prediction I was most unsure of making was putting Leander in 5th. The last video I saw of them was from a couple weeks ago and it was fun, but just a bit confusing and it left me unsure. I'm expecting the transitions will feel a lot better now that the show has had more time to develop. And while the guard is noticeably smaller, I say quality is more important than quantity.

I was actually a little worried about whether or not this site could be revived after last year but there has been a lot more conversation recently. Obviously not like it used to be but the season is just getting started!

I also noticed that the HEB Contest prediction doesn't have options for music, visual, GE, percussion, and guard. I figured it was too late but maybe it's worth a shot now.

When I first saw CTJ's show announcement, the first thing that came to my mind was Avon's Iconoclash and I see there are some similarities. Really liked what I saw and impressed with how good they look/sound this early in the season. My brother said that we need to send spies to their rehearsals.

Why does it feel like everyone else has already seen CTJ this year except me...

In 2012, they had 12 bands compete in prelims and all bands competed in finals. And in 2009, 13 bands were in prelims and 10 competed in finals.

I've just been watching TW's performances through the football game livestreams but those don't really give a full picture. I was a little on the fence about it but after watching the video recorded from the stands, I was wayyy more into it. Did not expect the color palette and aesthetic but I assume they wanted to take a more playful direction in regards to the source music and show theme. Out of the Texas bands, they have always had one of my favorite colorguards each year. Would be shocked if they didn't win at Conroe. Now I don't really know how the rest of the finalist will place. Lots of good bands and there is a lot of unpredictability with the covid break and this being an early regional. I'll be rooting for Pearland to take 2nd and for Keller Central to rep KISD! I was also very impressed with Dawson in 2019 so I'm keeping an eye out for them.

While looking through past results, I saw that TC attended in 2017.

They posted the schedule last week for the drumline competition which takes place next Saturday, so I'm hoping they'll post the schedule for this by next week.

I've been wondering what it was but it definitely sounds like "they don't understand you" from ET by Katy Perry!
