They didn’t show too much as it cut to commercial and to halftime highlights etc. I saw it live..this show is really good and better than last year.

Look for Cedar Park under CPHS. It looks pretty good. I like the music choices. I thought I was viewing Leander from the front but Ha! It was the back like everyone said. I couldn’t find Coppell. It’s so early and these shows will get better and better! I do like the limited props and no props.

Looks like someone put the Leander show up already. Vandergrift’s is online too. Vandy sounds good and from what I could see of the visual looked good as well. A bit Blair-witchy on the photography and a lot of attention on the pit.

The San Antonio SAT is offered on the date of Conroe and BOA San Antonio. Also CT Johnson doesn’t have a game the Friday before Conroe so that may have been a factor. Conroe wouldn’t be an overnight trip as it’s only 3 hours from SA and Austin

Flower Mound may not want to get a 9:00am Saturday draw.. aka LD Bell... that’s a tough one to have Friday night game, an early wake up for a 5:00 hr bus ride and then compete...tired. It might be smart to pick Friday to avoid the game if your school is far enough from SA

As for the distance, McAllen and Conroe are both 4 hrs away. CTJ will receive judge’s comments prior to Austin. I’m surprised Churchill and Reagan don’t do the same thing. Keep in mind, these schools sometimes play a school in the valley in football. It’s an easy and affordable trip. The beach? Corpus is two hours away. You would still need to add another 45 minutes to get to SPI from McAllen.

I like it! Can’t wait for the Fall Festival hopefully it won’t “rain” out this year. With NEISD starting two weeks later than rest of state it will be great to see what Madison, Reagan, Churchill, CTJ will have on the field

The big 3 NEISD schools (CT Johnson, Ronald Reagan, and Churchill) did not move the school year start date up like most of the state. I would give these three good odds at Conroe (medal CTJ & Reagan) and agree that Churchill should be a finals lock.

I couldn’t pull uil scores prior to 2017 on the uil site..well I was looking for the 2016 scores. I cited the same site as you (World of Pagentry) but then noticed the scores weren’t there just the rankings. It’s too bad you stop doing all the work on that website. It’s the best I’ve seen. I’m new to the marching bands- 2016 first year

Sorry, I meant finals and there was another correction as Leander was 6A and competed in all finals. I didn’t mean to leave CT Johnson out but they didn’t have as much back-to-back as Leander and Reagan prior to GN

I agree but how was Marcus the 4th best TX band? They finished behind Flower Mound, Reagan, Vandy, Hebron and Johnson at SA.. that would be 6th .. but I LOVED their show!

Of course the 5As could do Nov 10 but don’t they still have UIL? Leander is 6A so I don’t see them heading up and I think Vandy is 6A too. I watched the top three US Bands shows from last year and thought they were okay but not finalist caliber BOA. But I don’t know how our bands would do in an outdoor stadium with temps in the 40s.. and I think there were periods of drizzle.

It would be great to see some top TX BOA bands show off at a US Bands contest! Unfortunately I think the October 20th date will most likely be the same as UIL Area. And not that the Nov 10th wouldn’t be doable, especially for DFW bands, it’s still really exhausting to travel Friday and compete Friday and Saturday until midnight for Boa SA, recoup Sunday and compete in UIL State In SA Monday and Tuesday until midnight, travel home, possible playoff football Friday and compete Saturday at Jerry World! Tired thinking about it..that said, I still think any of the top bands would still easily win.
