2nd - Lumberton*
3rd - North Lamar
4th - Bridge City
5th - Paris
6th - West Fork
7th - Little Cypress-Mauriceville
8th - Pleasant Grove
9th - Palestine
10th - Splendora
-----
11th - Liberty-Eylau

I put asterisks on both SS and Lumberton because I can see both taking 1st.

the most that this conference will have at State this year is 27 bands. That is because-
Area A- is Advancing 4 Bands
Area B- At most will be able to send 5 Bands
Area C- is Advancing 5 Bands
Area D- At most will be able to send 6 Bands
Area E- is Advancing 7 Bands
So max would be 27 bands at 4A State. Just 1 more than 4A State in 2021 where 26 competed.

Hey everyone! Hope all is well during this chaotic marching season! I am here tonight (Actually early morning lol) to announce a new feature with our Predictions Game. This idea was brought to me from @Dave609. His idea was what if the predictors got something at the end of the season like a badge to showcase to all for their "impeccable predicting skills". Well, @Clarinot and I am here to tell y'all what we have made to share with everyone.
We have made a badge for those who predict the best!
Now here is how it will work.
Every hour the website will automatically calculate the standings of all the predictors for the current standings. Those in the top 10 will be rewarded with the badge. NOW, the next time the website updates (for example, when scores get added), anyone who drops out of the top 10 will get their badge revoked and then anyone who moves up into the top 10 will be rewarded with a badge. This will continue until the season is over, by then the final top 10 will keep their badge forever. Every year there will be a new badge ready to be awarded.
We hope this will increase in the competitiveness in predicting and hope some of yall work even harder to get into one of the coveted 10 spots
I will now list the current top 10 Predictors who should have a badge in their profile.

One more thing! Please, please, please double check any lineups for events before submitting. I've already had a couple Area Contests submitted with multiple bands who did not advance. Thank yall for participating in our 2023 TXBands Predictions Game! We are now getting into the intense part of the season. Go Band!

How many bands make finals at BOA?
Depends on how many bands perform in prelims. For this contest, 12 advance to Finals.

Texas City is Non-Varsity this year.

I'm saying it now. Rouse is bringing the house down this year and will win State. I do think Cedar Park will be really close though in 2nd of course.

what happened lol?
At the start of Rouse's closer, the baritones and tubas are doing some pretty fast backwards marching and the entire tuba line struggled, which resulted in 1 falling and 2 almost colliding.

So schools in 4A such as Anna, Kaufman, Sulphur Springs that all have around 1225 will stay or will they move up?
I highly doubt that UIL would lower the classes. Lately, they have been going up.

paetow, katy, Fulshear, brenham, Travis should round out the finalistsI believe in the past, they took 14 to finals. Are they not doing that this year?

Does anyone know what's the difference between a Varsity band and a Var-Composite band is? I'm curious as to what that means.
Varsity mean all band students on the field in the show are in High School. Var-Composite means that along with the High Schoolers, you also have middle school band kids in the show as well. Normally a lot of the smaller schools will be Var-Composite. If I'm wrong on any of this, I'm sorry!

Has anyone ever come across the name Langham Creek?
I ask because when I attended a Drum Major camp in San Antonio recently, it seemed that no one there was familiar with our school.
I know the band program was pretty successful at UIL State in the 90's/2000's, but unfortunately has slipped downwards since then. However, I think the program has been on a rise in the last couple years.

Does anyone know the confirmed DATE and LOCATION for the Region 10 Evaluation show? I can't find it anywhere.
I can only find the lineup and start times. I'm sure it's staring me in the face.
This is hilarious, cause as I'm reading through the topic, I tell myself "I bet they couldn't find Region 10 stuff" XD
Location is at Port Neches-Groves High School, Port Neches Texas. Date will be October 14th.

Oh! I almost forgot, if any of yall know/have the results for the following contests, please share them!
- Seguin Marching Festival (September 23rd)
- Cypress Marching Showcase (September 30th)
- Mesquite Marching Festival (September 30th)
I'm having the hardest time finding any sorts of results from these 3 events.
-
Hey yall! We are making our way into the start of the Prestigious UIL Process of the season, and I just wanted to make this statement. Any Regional events that get submitted will get declined as Region is not a competition between other bands. It should get renamed to UIL Regional Evaluation. Now come Area, that is where the actual competition will start.
Thanks for understanding and have a wonderful Monday!

Yeah, I'm sure that they won't update the website, since they didn't even do it last year, they did announce captions in prelims, and north shore swept, I'm guessing because they didn't announce them in finals that it must of been the same. I wish I had a video of it though.
Thank you!. I will just use the Prelims Captions Winner for Finals.

I march at Canton, we were able to watch Lumberton in the dome last year, it they were really loud, we all had them at 7-8th in prelims when we were predicting, hoping they see success this year!
I think a lot of people had Lumberton in Finals last year. I really think they could make it this time around. Will have to wait and see.
