Yeah...those are the flaws of UIL judging. Good thing it was only one crazy judge.

The thing that stood out to me most tonight was when the Keller and Timber Creek drum majors stayed on the field to talk when everyone left. It almost brought tears to my eyes. Keller is such a respectable program and it shows that these results are irrelevant compared to the relationships that these kids have with another. Bravo Keller and Timber Creek for being great humans!

Geez two judges had Keller in 1st in music and on had them in tenth. Good thing that judge didn’t get their way.

No one is saying that Area D isn't difficult or deep.  You're not comparing apples to apples.  All we're saying is that Area B has more depth as far as bands who could/should qualify for State...not nationally ranked/state ranked bands .
There are bands that should qualify for State who won't even advance to finals at Area B's competition.  I don't know if that can be said for other areas.
 
The band that has the best chance of winning state of our Area B is Keller, IMO....Area K definitely has more that could win.

Based on everything I’ve seen and heard, this is a pretty good prediction. The only thing is that a lot of bubble bands are on par with Seven Lakes so a multitude of different bands could take the last few spots.

Yikes. Area B can only get 2 more bands not advancing or they drop to 5 state qualifiers. Looks like Region 5 is going to be very important for Area B this year, even if they may not be as likely to have any state qualifiers.

Yeah...the drill design is baffling. The kids can do SO much better than what they were given to work with unfortunately.

Having watched the performances, that doesnt surprise me, though I'm not sure where you are getting that information.

I’m not surprised. One band is on the rise, the other is figuring things out and also didn’t get to perform in ideal circumstances (props, etc).

We all know Hebron’s issue but I did hear that Cedar Park has a disappointing run, Keller tore a few times, and other bands just for whatever reason didn’t perform how they wanted to.

Timber Creek was only 0.4 points behind LD Bell at BOA DFW and placed ahead of Prosper, even with their 8:30 am prelims time. I think we should start putting them in the conversation.

Ohhh duh. I’m still focused on and shocked at COPPELL not making finals. I have been confusing those two all day, tho. Sorry!

Keller Centrals show is clever and pretty hilarious.  They're always a very unique voice design wise, love it.  

I think its not that the band kids shouldn't care about how they place at all. I think it's more that they shouldn't get so focused on how others are doing that they lose sight of the things they are trying to accomplish themselves. Competition is healthy, but there needs to be an element of personal growth for each band first and foremost.
