Yeah, for all the bands going to Nats on 3-year and 4-year rotations, it's almost impossible time it right. Marcus was going every 4 years, so they only went to GN three times during their 10 year dynasty, and sadly never won a medal. But LD Bell and The Woodlands were going to GN every year or nearly every year in order to get their titles. And Vandegrift was the exception that proved the rule: it takes consistent attendance to win the Eagle.

See, I didn't really like their design in 2019 when they won Grand Nats or 2022 when they won State, but I really like it this year. Would not be upset at all if they won with this show, it plays really well.

I heard Waxahachie was "within the margin of error" and was not DQ'd, according to someone on the HornRank forums.

The most recent video of Coppell I've seen was at BOA Bedford. But judging from that, I'd guess they'll place anywhere from 6th-10th?

Certainly passes the duck test (looks like a finalist, sounds like a finalist), so I'd be surprised if they didn't make finals.

I understand money rules everything around us, but you would think UIL would be embarrassed to be putting out such an inferior product. I think maybe there's a state law that says they have to accept the lowest offer by any vendor and NFHS just lowballed everyone else trying to bid for the contract? In any case I'm willing to give NFHS the benefit of the doubt and if people say that the prelims broadcast looks and sounds good, I'll pay for finals. Otherwise I'll just wait for Grand Nats to roll around...
