TX Suh-nare

Does anyone know whether or not there will be staff changes? I've heard that a lot of corps have been sniffing around for new staff members, especially with brass and perc. I just wanted to know if Bones was any exception. Also, I know there will be an influx of TX HOPEFULS, but how many do you think will actually make the corps?

As a guy who flew up to the midwest for some drum corps audition camps (and HATED THE COLD WEATHER), I can really see how great it would be to have a Texan corps...Spirit and Crown wouldn't be the south's only heavy hitters...in a couple of years, Crossmen would be the top dogs in the South, and they'd do it with that vibe that rivals SCV! Pretty soon, them Yanks would fly down south to get some of that Tejano playn'! Oh, please let them come down South!

Man, if BOA keeps up this expanding and merging, they'll have a monopoly on all Fine Arts in the country by 2050. Scott McCormick could become a very rich guy! Just imagine if they merged with UIL... "Now joining us in BOA State Finals Performance..." Or how about DCI and WGI? Bands International, Incorperated. All we need are some Canadian bands to make the "international" legit!

Normally, I can go through Innovatives in 8-10 days of actual play (usually just under two weeks on a calendar). My last pair of Rennicks, which our pd gave us on one football game, lasted me four days. I even had to bum the pd for PRO-MARKS! YUCK! The dumb part is the Hardimon's I used for crap sticks have taken a beating from several drummers for months. I love Innovatives, but why are they so weak?

16 out of 150. That sounds like nothing compared to 45-50, but if we have 5 fail, then our band director will pull us out of Arlington, the only BOA contest we're doing this year.

Because when you can't find a Jack in the Box that's open this late, you begin to have bizzare cravings. How come, even though I'm a snare vet, the only girls I know that like me are a two-hour drive away in East Texas and the ugly bass clarinet chic that talked me into taking her to Homecoming last year?

THAT'S what I like to hear! And move a div 1 corps to SOMEWHERE in Texas instead of having four or five div 3s. Heck, if they moved PR, Vanguard, or even a corps like Pioneer to El Paso, it would still attract a Texas base! We could get the Texas Rangers Drum & Bugle Corps... On second thought, let's call 'em the Astros!

For y'all trying out for Cavies, beware. They're possibly going to Europe, so be willing to pay a LOT of money for entry fees

I'm not sure if I like Rick V. at PR. He is known for that BA SCV presence, which I don't really wanna see in a classy Phantom organization. Now, about them winning, he took over a championship Vanguard and SCV actually suffered in scores for a few years. They didn't get top three til '04, and the Vanguard suffered its worst plcement in years under his direction ('05). I really hope that doesn't happen. Phantom was making a great run at the top there! Now, I'd think it would be cool to see the resurrection of the Madison Scouts, but not at the expense of the first corps I fell in love with. By the way, what happened to Sal Salas?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say, Water. I'm telling you, it's good stuff! How come, even though Canada sucks, Canadians are some of the coolest people ever known (besides Texans?)

Don't count PR out of a championship just yet. Look at their history over the past few years 2003-5th 2004-4th 2005-3rd 2006-2nd If DCI plays this into politics, Phantom might be your 2007 DCI Champs. I'm also really sorry for SCV and Carolina Crown. After seeing those shows in person, I think they got robbed. I'm not dissing the Knights, but I think Crown shoulda had 7th. Oh yeah, congrats to Bluecoats on breaking top 5 for the first time (if not ever, then at least in a long time).

OK, at SA, it was confusing me. The Vanguard Yell has been around since the mid 90s, but back then it was usually in the opener. When Valenzuela too over the corps, he moved it to the back, right near the closer's big attack. This show has both. If you were at Dirty SA, you might have heard two Vanguard Yells, like I did.
