  1. When you make DCI predictions before camps are held. When your idea of a sacred relic is swiping a piece of confetti from the field at Grand Nats (Freshman year, STILL HAVE IT! After two years!) When you emailed EA Sports requesting they consider creating a DCI video game. (Just imagine, Drum Corps 2007, Out now for the Nintendo Wii...) When you wanna grow up and become ESPN's first official Drum Corps analyst (Yup, right here...) When at least five of you Top Eight Myspace Spaces are occupied by corps directors.
  2. What the heck?! Y'all forgot Bowie '06!!! What on God's Green Earth is wrong with you?!
  3. I hope thay don't go back to the old mostly purple unis... Those almost made me puke.
  4. Until the tenor fell... Trivia Fact: That tenor that fell in 2004 (visible only from percussion view) also fell not once, but TWICE in 2003 at San Antonio. The second time he fell, he snapped his J-Bar.
  5. Well, when you have 76 snares and 40+ tenors auditioning, any corps would have the best turnout ever.
  6. This is a hard topic, but I've narrowed it down to five. (In no real order) 1. Madison '96 "A Drum Corps Fan's Dream: Part Dos" Malaguena is the best music put on a marching field. This whole show just bleeds energy. Plus I've probably lost more hearing from this than drumming w/o earplugs. 2. Cavies '02 "Frameworks" Do I have to explain? This show is the closest thing to perfection since the Garden of Eden. 3. Star '93. (name?) For obvious reasons. Thom Hannum, you're a GOD, not a legend, but a GOD! 4. Cavies '03 "Spin Cycle" Guard outfits are a little scary for a straight guy, but the music in it (I believe) is better than Frameworks. Not by much, though. 5. Vanguard '99 This had it all. Pimp opener, pimp drumline, and just that textbook SCV "Back off" mentality...Ooo-Weee-Ooooh! Spicy! Sorry I can't narrow this down further. I just love this sport!
  7. Marching...For a drummer, he has to relearn how to play a mallet instrument. This sucks. I'll probably be stuck on a triangle or tamborine part again.
  8. Jesus, since he knows the future. Will the Texans EVER have a winning season?
  9. GIG 'EM AGGIES! We FINALLY beat the T-sips! WHOOP! I sadly had to miss the game going up to X-men tryouts, but I heard about it. Good stuff all around. Isn't that the 2nd time t.u. lost at home this season?
  10. Adding on to that, watch out for anything Pro-Mark. I marched indoor WGI with those, and man, they're AWFUL! Even the pairs the company sent us to sponsor them with were atrocious! Some of the gys that graduated busted Savages over the light side of PRCTICE PADS! Never put them on a drum.
  11. Dec. 12th, I'll be 17!!! Yeah! I can watch patheticlly stupid movies all by my lonesome!!! Man, I need a girl!
  12. Because all the good ones were taken. How many pounds of cranberry sauce will you be vomiting out after your feast today?
  13. Crown's OLD Unis (the purple ones)
  14. Imagine crabbing that 216 part. For a rookie snare, that almost killed me. In this year's show, we had 170/164 opener, ballad where the tempo jumped, and the closer was SUPPOSED to be 180, but I think us in the d-line rushed it four or five bpms.
  15. That wouldn't be Keoni, would it?
  16. Next question, please.
  17. Phantom Regiment was my first love, and I owe them for kinda inspiring me to drum, but as of now I'm a Cavie man.
  18. I'd be DEAD if I had to do that. One show that just recently did well was Godfather: Part Blue. I'd like to do a Mafia themed show off of that. You know, perform the Godfather on the hundred-yard stage. Badabing!
  19. I can think of one, too... "Keep your taps down..." "Three-foot Angel Rule!" "Move with a sense of URGENCY. We're not telling you to rush, but just move with a sense of urgency." "We're going to call this page 'Trumpet Stick-Out Page' until the trumpets stop overplaying."
  20. Because it reminds me of emus. Are you lonely?
  21. My P.D. went to Nats and told the perc section the whole story. It was one of the snares in Carmel. He was a senior, but, from where he was, his carrier attachment somehow broke (for you drumline illiterates, it's the hardware connecting the drum to the carrier). He made up his mind he would march his last show, so he just did it with no drum. Drummers...imagine that listening environment the guys on his outside had to deal with. He was one way from center, too, so at least two or three snares had to listen EXTREMELY hard to pick up the captain's sound!
  22. I've never heard of Wannamakers...what are those like? I will say Kuhns are the best I've played with...ever. And for those of you wondering, yes, I've played with Hardimon's.
  23. Oh my wird!
