  1. As a guy that was rescued from alternate heck via sound equip, I have to love it. I agree with the argument posted by the other guy (Bariphonium). Amping pit is sometimes needed and appropriate. But when used for voice-overs, speeches, and even pits that are too loud, don't waste the green. One example of good amping is SCV in 2004. The pit is just loud enough to be heard and to make a powerful impact on the show, withOUT coming off too strong. Brilliant.
  2. -Good music from the Cadets is back in the Glory Days of Garfield (83-87) All of those shows are superb. -On the topical note, Phantom is doing real well so far, and I have an mp3 of their show......OH MY GOSH! THIS STUFF IS AWESOME WITH A CAPITAL AWESOME!!! Much better than Appassionada. This is the PR show that'll have me hootn'! -It's really anyone's game between Cadets, Cavies, (maybe BD, not sure), Madison (feels funny to say that about 8th place on'04), and (hopefully) SCV. I don't think we'll see a real picture of true rankings until San Antonio. Then is when everyone is grittin' it out against each other. All I can say is, "Good Hunting."
  3. Yeah, man, you never know. It's not like you have 800 people trying out for every instrument (take PR bck in '04. There were fewer than half-a-dozen tenors trying out, while there were close to about 700 snares). I mean, you won't find 6,000 tubas trying out for one corps, so I'm not too suprised. Heck, one of our seniors and two alum were offered positions in corps like Glassmen, Blue Knights, and I think even Boston Crusaders.
  4. Anything with Sandler is funny, but this was a good question. It took me time to think of a possible answer. It has to be........................................................... Drum Roll Please.......................Happy Gilmore. It's just his best work. The comedy, the drama, and Ben Stiller as the evil moustached nursing home worker. Classic humor. "The price is WRONG, Bob!"
  5. 1995-Last Sunday:Phantom Regiment (got hooked when I was at my first DCI contest at the ripe old age of FIVE) Last Sunday-Now:Santa Clara Vanguard. The class, the poise, and the directors. It is probably the hardest working corps in DCI. I know a lot of the people working with them, and they are the coolest. Plus, they had the coolest unis ever (I LOVE '04s get up. I want to wear it in my coffin during my funeral, if for no other reason, just to say I did.) If I made either one, I would be ecstatic. Long live the Regiment In San Antonio, I AM doing the Vanguard Yell, so join me! VAAAANNNNGGGUUUAAAAARRRRRRRRDDD!!!!!!!!!
