I can so relate! My wife and I picked a home less than 1/2 a mile from Vista Ridge 9 years ago, my son was in Middle school Band and my daughter in Elementary. One of the criteria was the Band Program in the School and District. Cedar Park and Leander were the 2 best at that time with Vandi. getting better. But Vista looked to be on a solid path and a great foundation with the Middle school feeders so we were happy to find a good home near Vista. I'm in my 50's now and my Daughter is a Sr. in the Vista Ridge band. For me it is my 8th year as a Vista Ridge Band as a Band Dad. I love to hear them practicing from my home! I love to be able to walk over and watch! I love all the years doing this not just the very special 2018! I will be back watching next year after my kids are out of High School and I hope some Alumni Parent volunteer opportunities pop up! Retirement is coming up in the next 5 to 10 years and I am thinking about the 5th wheel motor home I will need to go around the country watching Marching Band competitions!

You were correct in your earlier statement about hating this game. I really hate the game also. All these shows are soooo good and all deserve to win! Maybe we should have a game that just starts at zero and everyone get's one + vote a day and the one with the most votes win. After each week the lowest vote goes out (if a tie all the tie's go out). Less negative that way and based just on + votes so we don't have to vote against all the bands or shows we love.

I have to say I am highly jealous of the bands going to BOA Grand Nat's from Texas this year and wish things would have worked out for Vista Ridge (my daughters band) to go as well. She is a Sr. this year and my son graduated in 2016 so this year will be my 8th year with the program and we never got to go. The VR kids are hyped up on the new show this year and are saying its going to be bigger and better than Lost and Found. Would have been fun to take it to Grand Nat's and see what it could do! I'll be watching the Texas 6 this year and will be screaming and rooting for all of you (but a bit extra for the LISD south schools)!

Looks like a good prediction and I can't argue with it, but others might Welcome aboard!
