  1. It doesn't yet show on the WGI list but Invictus (Independent World Class) shows it on the member calendar. I so hope to see them here!
  2. Agreed that we were missing many of the DFW Power Bands this year and I wish I could have seen them live and would have enjoyed that very much! Looking back over the last 5 years for BOA SA the percent of top bands in the Top 20 by Region is solidly showing Austin on top. Austin Area was number one for all 5 years with a tie with DFW in 2022. While a solid argument that DFW has Powerhouses that dominate the top 5, for the top 20 I would argue that Austin is on top.
  3. Thanks for the call-out. I was counting Moe & Gene Johnson as San Antonio by mistake (in Buda and a Austin area band), my apologies for the error. Here is the correction: Austin Area: 10 Bands (22 attending so 45.5% of attending in top 20) DFW Area: 4 Bands (13 attending so 30.8% of attending in top 20) Houston Area: 4 Bands (16 attending so 25% of attending in top 20) San Antonio Area: 2 Bands (11 attending so 18.2% of attending in top 20)
  4. Regional Breakout for Top 20: Austin Area: 9 DFW Area: 4 Houston Area: 4 San Antonio Area: 3
  5. Here is how Area H landed. Also a good spread and over 25% of the top 20 are from Area H: Vandegrift 3rd Cedar Park 7th Rouse 8th Vista Ridge 9th Westlake 16th Leander 20th Liberty Hill 37th Lake Travis 42nd Glenn 50th Veterans Memorial 56th Burbank 63rd
  6. The site was so much better with what you did last week for the State Competitions and BOA SA! Thanks Clarinot for all the work to keep this form going!
  7. Confirmed it was 6A, check the UIL Region results, Rouse was in Region 26 at the time and the UIL Records for 2014 shows Rouse as 6A:
  8. I was able to watch A&M Consolidated live at the Vista Ridge Marching Festival and was very impressed! They took first in Prelims, but 4th in Finals. They have Reed Akenson involved in developing the show this year. For those of you who don't know Reed, his first full year as Vista Ridge's Marching Director was when they won 6A State in 2018. I see signs of his impact with the A&M Consolidated show this year and expect them to make a big jump. I know based on history there will be many doubters but I really believe they will be a contender this year for 5A Finals at State. Also should do well at BOA San Antonio but I would not expect finals.
  9. I am having trouble again with the system. Last night (Saturday evening 10/11, contest evening) and today it loads slow and can't get to unread content. Still Bot's or something else?
  10. The 5A/6A Region 32 Contest has some great bands. Six of the Bands are in HornRank's top 24 in the Nation, not just Texas! Talk about a stacked Region!
  11. Was able to get the Region 32 5A and 6A contest Schedule from the Region 32 President.
  12. Thanks for doing this! The site is working so much faster and a very good trade-off having to take the extra step when going into the site. It is running very quickly and working normally again!
  13. So glad you are making decisions to take good care of yourself and hope you will still be watching and posting! I have always enjoyed your thoughtful and cheerful input to TX Bands!
  14. Today is working fine but was was poor (slow) this past week and yesterday (9/13) was really bad and mostly not usable. Hope the problem has been fixed

  16. I was able to see Chuck Live in the 80's at was then East Texas State University. Was a fantastic show and I have been a big fan for many decades. Will miss him! Would be fantastic to see some sort of tribute worked into a DCI show in 2026!

  18. I believe each Band submits a script with the accomplishments prior to the contests for the announcers when signing up for the contest. Money has nothing to do with the scripts. The parent in question should ask the directors what was submitted on the script to the contest and if it needs correction or additions get it fixed.
  19. Thanks for taking the time to send but that is the one that is public with the placement (ordinals) from each judge (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc). They also have another one with numeric scoring from each judge up to I believe 1000 points possible by judge. That is how they determine placement in the contest; each judge scores the bands throughout the contest and then when the contest is over they review the scores they gave and rank accordingly. I was looking for the one with the raw scores.
  20. Does anyone have a PDF or a link to the results with the scoring and not just the Ordinals (placement)?
  21. No Placements announced until after finals. Here is the Finals Schedule. It is top 1/2 and bottom 1/2: Area H Finals Schedule 7:15 - O'Connor H.S. 7:30 - Steele H.S. 7:45 - Stevens H.S. 8:00 - Sotomayor H.S. 8:15 - William H. Taft H.S. 8:30 - Brandeis H.S. 8:45 - Lake Travis H.S. 9:00 - Vandegrift H.S. 9:15 - Westlake H.S. 9:30 - Vista Ridge H.S.
  22. Looking through the captions and noticed that Vandi won the "Color Guard" caption. I wonder if the Color Guard Caption Rubric should have more on diversity and difficulty in use of "weapons" as it was a "Color Guard" caption in this contest. While Vandi's Vision Dance Co. is great at dance and provides some excellent visual effects (and as such did very well adding GE and Visual to the performance) it doesn't match Regan for "Color Guard" as it would be judged in WGI or TCGC as it's not a Color Guard per se but a Dance Team.
