You saying this Saturday made me realize the contest is in only five days.... oh my god.

If I look at the HornRank Top 10 right now (Oct. 23), 6 out of the 10 bands are from Texas. Looking at the whole Top 30, 16 out of the 30 are from Texas. Even with the 8 hour rule, Texas dominates with 60% in the top ten and 53% in the Top 30. That's huge even with the limits UIL imposes on Texas bands.

I agree. Their shows from years prior have a "thing" that's missing this year if you will. Can't put my finger on it.

Definitely. I really hope BOA puts some sort of practice restrictions in place this next season. Not fair for Texan groups who compete with those who come to Texas for San Antonio who have schedules like Tarpon *cough* Avon *cough* haha.

Like bandbandband said, they don't have a practice restriction like they do here. There isn't a UIL body as far as I know of that regulates that. Tarpon is that small (2A) as they are a private fine arts school I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Yes. This is exactly how I feel. It's not a very thought provoking show. That's not to say it's not performed well.

Huh. As a CR student it's really supposed to convey the sense of chaos of daily life in NY. Obviously I'm biased but I think it does the intended purpose well.

Totally. Thank you for bringing this up. A lot of people tend to get caught up in the amount/size of props.

I agree. I didn't even notice there wasn't props until my friend bumped me and pointed it out. I was just so enchanted by the guard and music.
